Urgent scan at 37 weeks?

So I'm 37+3 with dc2 and I've just had someone knocking at the door but couldn't answer as I was in the bath, they were quite persistent and knocking quite aggressively but they left just before I was about to get out and see what they wanted. They've left a note saying I need to call fetal assessment and book a scan for as soon as possible as a matter of urgency.
I'm now very worried. I was meant to have a growth scan last week but had to cancel due to DS being ill and the midwife said she didn't see any reason to rebook as my last few have been totally normal and my bump size is now on track. My last midwife appointment was Thursday and she said she was sending off my urine but no bloods etc so I'm wondering what this could be about and worried sick. Anyone have any ideas?

Call then? How on Earth are we supposed to know what’s going on?

amazedmummy · 12/03/2020 11:07

Give them a call to rebook then call your midwife to see if there's any notes or anything.

BadCatDirtyCat · 12/03/2020 11:07

Call the fetal assessment unit.. ?

It does sound weird/worrying. I'd call them asap.

winnielapooh · 12/03/2020 11:07

@Isadora2007 I have called they booked the scan but don't know any details. I don't expect anyone to know what's going on but am seeing if anyone else had similar and knows what it could be for. No need to be rude I'm just worried which I think is understandable.

If you only have urine then probably preeclampsia? Hopefully you'll get I contact with them asap

I’d imagine it’s because you missed the growth scan, what the midwife thinks and what the Consultant then sees you for are two separate things.

My midwife didn’t have a clue what was going on in my pregnancy as she had no access to the hospital systems. So unless I told her she didn’t know.

Delbelleber · 12/03/2020 11:10

That is really weird someone came to your door to tell you that. Can you ring your mw and find out what is going on

Delbelleber · 12/03/2020 11:12

@Eropsawlkasd23455 my mw called me yesterday about a scan I had after reduced movements, she must have got that off her computer because she knew all about it and I hadnt told her anything.

Thesearmsofmine · 12/03/2020 11:13

Contact your midwife. It might have been a community midwife that was knocking at the door, they tend to be quite persistent when they knock!

winnielapooh · 12/03/2020 11:15

Hmm I've just called the midwife and she said she wasn't aware of anything, she mentioned that I have low pap-a but they knew that already. The scan is tomorrow anyway so not too long to wait but it seems like a lifetime now! She said she'll call me back if she can find anything out

Oh strange! That would have me worried sick! I wonder why they came to your house though! That's a bit weird I thought they'd just phone! When is your scanned booked for OP? Maybe they picked something up in your urine.

winnielapooh · 12/03/2020 11:22

@usernameunknownn I know! I have a really unsettled feeling now but baby's kicking away nicely so that's reassuring. They've booked me in tomorrow morning at 10 so luckily not too long of a wait 🤞🏻

Hope everything is ok OP xx

Wolfgirrl · 12/03/2020 12:38

Could it be that they're speeding up scans due to the coronavirus as they're anticipating having to close or something? Just a guess, good luck Flowers

Troels · 12/03/2020 12:43

Good luck. Hope it's just a case of clearing the books in case of a shut down.

winnielapooh · 12/03/2020 12:49

Oh the shut down thing would make sense actually, hadn't thought of that! Feeling a bit less anxious now. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

That is odd! I’d be worried too, but at least you’ll know today.

Eropsawlkasd23455 · 12/03/2020 13:11

Good luck OP, please let us know how you get on xxx

sjmco · 12/03/2020 13:17

Good luck, hope it all goes ok xx

Isadora2007 · 12/03/2020 14:12

@winnielapooh I wasn’t meaning to be rude but I wasn’t sure at all why you were asking here instead of calling. I hope you have some reassurance and answers now.

Delbelleber · 12/03/2020 14:17

Good luck

UsernameUnknownn · 12/03/2020 14:39

Didn't even think about shutting for coronavirus. Maybe they are just getting the least urgent in now and keeping scans for emergencies etc.
Hope all is well OP

Namevhanger20202010 · 12/03/2020 19:39

@winnielapooh hope things went okay?

winnielapooh · 13/03/2020 06:51

Hi it went fine thank goodness. They didn't seem as worried at the hospital and said I just have very low Papp-a so need to be monitored despite the growth seeming to be on track but baby was measuring all fine other than the head which was too engaged to measure so I'm hoping that means things will get moving soon!
