So I’m 6w4d and today a car has hit me while walking. It was an elderly man and wasn’t going fast but I was on the pavement!
I’ve been to a&e and I’m booked in for a scan tomorow to check my baby. I had a private scan on Sunday and saw a heartbeat. Since the hit I’ve had back ache and very mild aches in my stomach. I’ve seen a doctor and they’ve said it’s just muscle strain and unlikely
To cause a miscarriage. I am so anxious and can’t stop crying. This is an ivf baby and I was over the moon it worked and that everything was ok and now this!

Oh you poor thing, what a shock. I'm sure you'll be fine, baby is very protected in there. I bet baby didn't even notice!

Try to relax, that'll help with the pain and good luck for the scan.

tinyhappyaliens · 10/03/2020 17:01

No advice but couldn't read and run.

What an awful thing to happen to you! I hope you get the answers you want tomorrow.

Take care of yourself tonight x

Emmagen · 10/03/2020 17:08

Oh I am so sorry, how scary!

As previously said the baby is very very well protected in the early stages. It's still inside your pelvis.

Hope you are not too achy and that you get good news in your scan.

HermanHermit · 10/03/2020 17:13

@Littlebb2020 I hope that I can reassure you. The same thing happened to me; I was sent flying by a van at about 20 weeks and all my panic was aimed at my toddler child who I was out walking with. It Only dawned on me in the middle of my (somewhat emotional!) “discussion “ with the employer of the van that I was pregnant. I had to spend a night in hospital hooked up to machines and monitors and the worst of the whole episode was the lack of sleep I got that night. Went into work the next day without any issue. Take it easy but do try not to worry unduly xx

eaglebay · 10/03/2020 17:25

Just to reassure you I think you'll be fine. Baby is the size of a grain of rice at that gestation.

My friend was in a car accident at 22w and lost that baby.

thisislovelyme · 10/03/2020 17:32

Hello OP, I'm sure you're frantic with worry but hope I can reassure you a little. I was 6-7 weeks pg when I had a nasty fall on ice. Totally hit the deck, didn't get my hands out or anything. Tiny embryo was well padded and totally unharmed.

GaaaaarlicBread · 10/03/2020 17:35

Didn’t want to read and run OP. I’m glad you’re ok as can be and I’m sure baby is fine as they’re very well padded in there ! X

BeautyAndTheBump1 · 10/03/2020 17:36

So sorry hun, try to rest and recover and try not to stress too much.
I know it's not the same, but I went on roller coasters in florida not knowing I was pregnant, and they have some pretty big jolts / stops and drops and as soon as I found out all I did was worry. But he was fine.
Sending you a big hug x

LuluJakey1 · 10/03/2020 17:40

I hope you are ok.
Did you call the police? You should have.

Littlebb2020 · 10/03/2020 18:21

Thankyou for your reassuring words and replies!
It means a lot and I’ve stopped stressing as much as I was. I still have backache but have took paracetamol and lieing down waiting for a takeaway.
Yes I got his reg and going to the police station tomorow as I can’t get through to my local x

Oh I’m so sorry, what a terrible thing to happen.

Please don’t forget that you baby is absolutely tiny at this stage and is incredibly well protected inside you.

Take care of yourself x

StudentHelp · 10/03/2020 19:06

For what it's worth OP skydiver Shayna Richardson suffered a fall after a parachute failure whilst pregnant and her baby was OK. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shayna_Richardson
