Hello

Has anyone experienced hair loss, particularly in early pregnancy?

I am 6 weeks and my hair is falling out like never been - large handfuls every time I brush or wash it.

Can anyone help on this?

Thanks

Hey OP

Mine hasn't necessarily fallen out in lumps like it sounds yours is but I have found mine has thinned massively and when I brush my hair so much comes out in the hairbrush. It's also greasy all the time, no matter how little or often I wash it.

I'm 11+ 4 now but have read that other people have said once you get to 2nd trimester their skin and hair are the healthiest they have ever been.

Congratulations on your pregnancy Flowers

I have quite long hair and I found it thinned and came out more than usual in the early stages (when showering, brushing etc), it really worried me for a while but around the middle of the 2nd trimester it all stopped and now I'm 30 weeks and my hair has never been fuller or glossier.

Mine came out in massive clumps until about 18weeks. I suffered from hyperemesis and when I spoke to my doctor they said it was due to a nutritional deficit as I was unable to eat for several months. No one but me could tell, but I did find it distressing at the time. I'm 36 weeks now and my hair is great, try not to worry, it should pass.
