Hi there, I guess I'm looking for any good news stories out there. We had an early scan today. According to my dates lmp 24.12.19 (long 35 day cycle) positive ovulation test 13.1.20, with bfp 5.2.20. I'm 9+3, measured today 6+4, no heartbeat. The sonographer said if I wasn't so sure of my dates she would say normal early pregnancy. I just don't see how my dates can be wrong, so assuming the worst and its a missed miscarriage. Can anyone give me any reassurance that it may be OK in the end? Sorry for the ramble, just feel so confused. 😟

I don't want to give you false hope as I have been both ends of this. But my LMP was very close to yours (28th dec) so I should be around 9 weeks but my baby (with heartbeat) was seen yesterday measuring 6 weeks. I know my cycles are well off following a miscarriage in October - so it may be different for me. But they say it's all looking perfect. I also have no idea about ovulation or anything. If your dates could be off by a couple of weeks and you ovulated very late - then maybe? What are your next steps? Do you have another scan date? Sorry this is happening - the waiting is unbearable. Good luck

@Mrsp2011 If you’re sure of your dates and you know when you ovulated by a positive test and then a bfp 2-3 weeks later, then unfortunately it doesn’t sound like good news for you. A baby at 6+4 would usually have a heartbeat as well (between 5-6 weeks the heart starts beating).
I had a missed miscarriage and opted for surgical management as by body just didn’t realise that the pregnancy had ended. It was no where near as traumatic as I expected (it was my first general anaesthetic as I was terrified). Sorry you’re having to go through this Flowers

The difference with @LittleBrownBaby is that she didn’t know when she ovulated so it is entirely possible she ovulated later in her cycle, meaning that she is only actually 6 weeks rather than 9, but you do know when you ovulated.

Thanks both, @twinklestars15 I think you're probably right, I'm just clutching at straws really. Feel doubly let down by my body, didn't support baby and doesn't even know it!! I have a repeat scan next Friday, but definitely expecting the worse from it. Such a long wait. X

I think @TwinkleStars15 makes some really good points - sorry if I gave false hope as obviously my situation may be quite different.

Hang on in there. I know the waiting is the worst.
