Bleeding after sex 16 weeks

Hi, I’m really worried as yesterday my partner and I had sex, and this morning when I wiped the discharge was a really light pinkish brown colour.

I’ve spoken to my MAU who said it sounds normal and to keep an eye on it and call back if it gets worse but I’m so worried :(

I’ve booked a last minute private scan but it isn’t til 8 tonight and I’m gonna be at the toilet checking for blood constantly til then :(

Has anyone else had this and it been okay? I’m 16 weeks x

I think you'll be ok. I had a bit of light bleeding throughout my third and fourth pregnancies, everything was ok. The midwife did say it can be common after sex. I think the rule they go by is if you're not in pain and it's not bright red then it's not usually anything to worry about but if you're worried at all, go to your EPAU and get checked over x

I'm 17 weeks and get the same thing. It's so scary.

Have had a couple of extra scans because of it and baby is fine. It has completely put me off sex though as the stress and worry just isn't worth it. I'm sure everything will be fine, good luck with the scan!

Thank you everyone it’s so stressful I’m praying everything is ok at the scan Sad

Op I hope this sets your mind at ease and not go the other way but almost 11 years I mc at 16 weeks and the bleeding was unmistakable. I literally had a puddle of blood in my knickers. A small amount of bloody discharge sounds normal. Good luck and please keep us posted x

I bleed after Dec and pretty much every day throughout my pregnancies it's pretty common. Especially after sex as the cervix is more likely to be irritated

Every pregnant woman I know who has sex when pregnant has experienced bleeding after.

I personally abstain during pregnancy. But yeah, sounds normal

Thanks everyone, fingers crossed it’s just irritation I’m so glad I’ve managed to get a scan to get checked over.
