I started taking the mini pill a number of weeks ago, but we had sex on the night I started taking it. At the time I thought it’d be okay but thinking now I think I should have started to take it a couple of days before.

Woke up feeling slightly sick & exhausted today.

Did I start taking it too late? I know this is a little silly.

It’s not the end of the world if I am, I’d be happy but DS is only 7 months Hmm

Take a pregnancy test and you’ll get a definitive answer.

From the NHS website

If you start it on day 1 to 5 of your menstrual cycle (the first 5 days of your period), it'll work straight away and you'll be protected against pregnancy. You won't need additional contraception.

^If you have a short menstrual cycle, you'll need additional contraception, such as condoms, until you've taken the pill for 2 days.

If you start the progestogen-only pill on any other day of your cycle, you won't be protected from pregnancy straight away and will need additional contraception until you've taken the pill for 2 days.

Isn't there an information leaflet in the pack?

I agree that a pregnancy test will answer your question though.

Thank you @soupdragon I think I do have a leaflet. I’ll check it. I’m not sure about my period dates as I was taking it then I stopped for 6 to 8 weeks as I couldn’t get hold of it due to shortages
