7 weeks pregnant - brown discharge

Hi,

Can I please have some advice from people who have experienced this or some knowledge about it.

7 weeks pregnant today and discovered some brown discharge in my pad when using the toilet this afternoon. I'm a nervous wreck this pregnancy anyway having previously suffered 4 MC's. Should I call dr/mw for advice??

The quick reply was just for reassurance.
I had brown spotting with both DD1 now 18 and DD2 15. It is very very common and usually nothing to worry about.
If there is also pain not just stretching feelings and red bleeding it may be worth getting checked out.
My friend had it in all 3 of her pregnancies too.

Having had 4 MCs I realise that you are feeling anxious anyway and this is frightening but at the moment it is nothing to be concerned about.

I had this all the way through first trimester. Am 31 weeks now.

Brown discharge is old blood, usually from the cervix, and not usually anything to worry about.

Your GP should be able to refer you to EPU for a scan. Good luck x

I had the same when I was 8 weeks and then mine unfortunately turned into red blood after a week 😞 I would contact your midwife to be on the safe side

I had brown discharge throughout my pregnancy with my first it was fine. I would get it checked though for peace of mind x

Thanks for your replies, there is some reassurance from them. I will see how the night and tomorrow morning goes if there is anymore maybe a call to the out of hours GP will just put my mind at ease xxx

I had lumpy brown discharge for a long time. All is fine with me though and I'm nearing my third trimester. I had lots of bright red blood too but turned out to be a separate issue. All has stopped now and everything is going fine. I hope this experience helps to settle your mind a little. And I'm sorry you've gone through all those miscarriages, I have everything crossed that this one works out. Stay in touch with your midwife and get checked out as often as you feel. I was back and forth to hospital several times before they got a doctor to look at me and finally gave me a reason for all the bleeding.
