Not too sure which board to post this on but I assume its aimed at those of us who are pregnant!

Is anyone going to the Baby & Toddler Event in Manchester at Event City in March? Has anyone been before to previous ones? Is it worth it?

my husband and i are going on the saturday - we got the tickets free via the emma's diary app though, i don't know if i'd bother if i had to pay. i am assuming it'll be similar to wedding fairs i went to when we were engaged - mostly people trying to sell stuff. but i'm hopeful we'll get a few good ideas of things we might want to consider for when babies arrive.

thank you @thethirdbar, thats helpful! i am assuming its companies trying to sell things but also want to go to be able to see products up close and get a feel for them. i was wondering if some brands may offer discounts on things on the day? that could be worth it! ive had the emmas diary email but just offering them at half price (£9).

have you bought anything yet? when are you due? :)

yes exactly the same - now mothercare is gone there aren't so many places you can phsically get a look at things so i think it will be useful just for that alone, and potentially if there are any good discounts available on things we decide we need.

i'm not due till 26th july - we're having twins though so likely will be earlier than that. we have our 20 week scan a few days before the event so might feel more confident shopping then - the only things we've bought so far are a new car(!) and some muslin cloths (which i have been practising nappy folds with on a teddy ha ha). you ??

I've been to a few of the baby and toddler events (in london) and you can usually get pretty big discounts. It is really good for finding products you may not have heard of/seen before as well.

@thethirdbar - exactly! why isnt there a giant baby warehouse where you can go see everything! i dont know where you live but there is a shop called 'winstanleys pramworld' and they have a warehouse in wigan and stoke. they do personal shopping too! but if event city have some discounts on, that would be fab! im asking my mum to come with me, my other half refused haha.

oh wow, twins! how amazing! are you finding out what youre having or keeping it a surprise? a new car is a great place to start! are you going to be doing the reuseable nappies?

we have our 12 week scan on monday but had a private one last night, not got an official due date yet but im currently 11+3 based on the scan so i am thinking end of august. i have bought a few outfits, some little socks and a blanket, couldnt resist!

@pinkflipflop85 - i think i shall go! just to see whats there! :). i just know i will be sucked in to buying an item that is highly not needed but i think its a must have!
