I'm a bit over 33wks, and i have until 28th in work. I rang in sick Friday and today- i have felt crappy, but i could have pushed myself to go in if i'd tried. I can't wait to finish...can't sleep, sore back etc.

But if i finish early it's less time with the baby when he's actually here. I work 4 days a week, and sit at a desk, so it's not physical work. Although i do walk to work every morning, which now takes me about 15-20mins.

Shall i just push myself until the end of the month

think thats a good decision pregnantgrrrl, I was also told that if you didnt take enough time off to rest before the birth, that you had more chance of intervention or emergency c section? Dont how true that is, but would make sense? I have an hour travelling to do (currently 23+5) and was going to work until 36 weeks...cant see it somehow!!!
Not long now then!!! x

I planned to work to 38 weeks with my first (so that I could have more time iwth baby afterwards) and had an absolutely horrid time in the last few weeks gritting my teeth through the commute etc, culminating in getting home at 10pm Friday night with one week of work to go, and going in to labour 3 hours later. Then having my inbox fedexed to me so that i could do a "handover" and fedex it back the first day I got back from hospital with the baby. It was absolutely awful and took me weeks to get over the bad start of being knackered, mentally not prepared, practically not prepared (husband running around purchasing nappies etc after the birth). 2nd time round, I stopped work at 34 weeks and baby didn't come till 42, but it was INFINITELY preferable. With all my girlfriends, the ONLY piece of pregnancy/birth related advice that I ever feel I can give as a firm opinion is stop work earlier than you think you need to. This is your last chance to indulge yourself a bit and thereby make sure you give you and your baby the best chance of a good start that you can. Good luck!
