I could feel it coming yesterday then today bam, full on cold. Im 7 weeks pregnant. Any tips on how to combat it? Wasn't sure if i can take Lemsips. Should I stick to paracetamol? Many thanks ladies x

Try not to take any medication if you can. I had the same and was told to try and not even take paracetamol. Plenty of water, rest and good food is really all you can do.

Why wouldn't you take paracetamol? If reduces your temperature and stops any aches and pains and will make someone feel better! I've never heard of NOT taking it?

No lemsip or meds with decongestant in.

Apparently they reduce blood flow to the baby.

Paracetamol, steam, plenty of fluids, honey and lemon, saline nasal spray
No decongestants, no lemsip, no vicks etc

Paracetamol is absolutely fine I had a horrible cold early on and my midwife said it was fine to take them but not lemsip .

Oh yes definitely agree with the honey and lemon that with the paracetamol I was able to get a half decent sleep.

Hot water, fresh lemon & honey. It's so soothing. Better than any lemsip and you can drink as many as you like. I'm also a huge fan of hot Vimto/Ribena x
