We’ve just had IUI....

Hello, we’re after some advice!

We’ve had our second round of IUI treatment, sadly our first was unsuccessful. Tomorrow will be the end of the dreaded 2 weeks but also a day before my wife’s period is due.

We’ve felt different symptoms this time though, had cramps at the time expected implantation and light spotting. A few dizzy moments but nothing to note really and then she’s a bit more tired some days compared to others but that’s not unusual for her...
But for the past week now, she’s been having a cramp sensation constantly. Not too painful but feels as though she’s going to come on. She never has this, she usually has cramps the day she comes in, nothing before and nothing after.

Has anyone else had persistent cramps? Her boobs don’t look or feel any different and there aren’t many of the suspected symptoms some may feel, but the constant cramps are a concern... I think!

Constant cramps can be a sign of pregnancy or of period coming. You can cramp more in ART cycles due to some of the drugs used. My boobs never change til much later on in pregnancy. The only way to tell is to take a test.

Good luck.

Thanks!

We had a natural cycle and never used any drugs, so it’s not like we can blame them. Just a constant mind game at times!

Yes, my only advice would be to trust the process and settle in for the long haul. We skipped iui as not suitable but got our son from fourth round of IVF and now pregnant with a daughter from eighth round, so it can work but it can also take time!
