Abdominal pain

Hi there,
I'm 6 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing mild-moderate gripey abdominal pain for the last week which is freaking me out! It's intermittent, worse when I'm just sitting or lying down and particularly bad at night time. No bleeding at all but I'm still so worried that it's a bad sign. This is my first pregnancy so I have zero experience to fall back on! Any advice/reassurance would be very gratefully received Smile

I had this from around 4 weeks, was one of the first symptoms I had that led me to think I was pregnant! Always worse at night too, I think because I could notice it more when I was trying to sleep.

It carried on til I was around 7 weeks then faded and happened less and less, I get mild cramp type pains every so often now but not much at all :)

Thank you! Really reassuring to know it goes away Smile

@GraceEL I have been having the same, sometimes it's quite intense and feel like really bad period cramps. I've been told that this can be really normal for the first 12 weeks as everything is beginning to stretch/change. I've also had some spotting too which freaked me out, but I've had an early scan (I'm 6+5) and have seen a heartbeat and told everything looks good. Main thing is to keep an eye out, my GP also wanted me to have a scan to rule out an ectopic which is wasn't luckily. Fingers crossed for you that all will be fine! No one tells you about these early aches and pains! Xxxx

@Flossie333 thank you so much that's really reassuring. It definitely does feel like period pain, and I suppose it does make sense when you think about what's going on in there. How exciting that you got to hear the heartbeat!! Xx

@GraceEL I know it was lovely! Although I'm trying so desperately not to get attached until we get a little further on. Harder said than done! Xxx
