I'm 13+1 and earlier today my stomach got really hard and I had severe abdominal and back pains. I laid down and they improved a little but didn't go away.

Now about 3-4 hours later I still have aching in my lower back similar to period pains (I feel as though I really am about to come on my period). & also pains in my stomach which feel tight and really uncomfortable.

Is this normal or should I be worried? Any answers would be appreciated as I'm quite concerned as usually when I lay down any pain goes away completely.

Thanks :)

@Byets didn't want to just read and leave...
When I was pregnant with my first I would have quite frequent sometimes severe cramps... is it only from your back? I remember I asked my mid wife about it and said sometimes if you arnt drinking enough water in the day that can cause cramping and the discomfort?... I'd definitely keep an eye on it though and if you are starting to become quite concerned ring your mid wife for some peace of mind.. I used to ring my local midwife all the time with issues and thought I was so silly but she reassured me that that's what they are there for 😂😂 I'm sure it's nothing to worry about though Flowersxx

@MoStew18 thank you so much for replying. The pain is in both my back and my belly at the moment, I have a water bottle and I make sure I drink at least 2 litres of water a day and have had some warm honey and lemon too as I have a cold so I don't think it's dehydration ☹️ I've got a little bump and it seems to go really hard when the pains at its worst? Feels so tight. I don't know if that's something you experienced? I'm the same I feel like I'm being dramatic and don't want to ring and I'm just over worrying!🤣 am contemplating speaking to someone though as it's not something I've felt before 😊 xx

Hi lovely. I'm sorry to hear you're suffering. Lots of thinks can cause pains, I think at that point your uterus is really in the move which can cause a lot of discomfort! I had a lot of tummy ache and indigestion between 12 and 20 weeks. I don't think it sounds anything to worry about, but if you are don't suffer and ring the midwives and they will hopefully reassure you! I hope you feel better soon ❤️

@Byets oh op I'm sorry you are poorly as well as feeling pain 😩 I think the pp is right it can be a number of things baby might be stretching you out and that's maybe why you feel really heavy in both your abdomen and back... I know with my first I had those pains and niggles and all was well might just be a case of the baby getting bigger and your body is just accommodating for that... but definitely call if it's worrying you and making you anxious I'm sure it's absolutely nothing to worry about... really hope you fee better soon 🥰xx

How are you feeling today OP?

Byets · 24/01/2020 11:49

Thank you everyone for your replies 😊 I decided not to call anyone last night and see how I go.. my partner wanted me to call but it's so hard isn't it, if you call for everything then you'll be calling every day wouldn't you 🤣🙈

@BettyButtercup - I'm still crampy today, it's not as painful but definitely still there like period pains in my back and belly! I'm so confused as to whether they're normal or not!! 🙄 if they haven't gone by this evening then I'm going to call just for reassurance 😊
