Transverse at 31 weeks and a bit worried

Hi everyone!

Ive just been for my 31 week midwife check (although im nearer 32 weeks) and baby is transverse. I know they say theres still time for him to turn around, but im just a bit worried that he wont and ill be in for a c-section. Im not adverse to a section, but i'd rather not.

Does anyone have any experience of this?

My first was transverse. I already knew I had an abnormally shaped uterus which can make it more likely. She didn't turn and I declined an ECV. I was admitted at 38 weeks as a precaution because they don't want you to go into labour at home. Then had a planned section at 38+6. I'm now 20 weeks with my second and anticipating the same.

I hope yours turns! Vast majority of them do.

Not quite the same as you but mine was transverse at 29 weeks, breech at 31 and had turned head down with no bother by 34 weeks. Hopefully yours will do the same!

Mine is slightly different as I’m 36+3 and my boy is complete breech. I’m having to have a section which I hadn’t ever thought I’d have to have but honestly the doctors have talked me through everything and I’ve seen loads of ladies talk on here about how great their sections were. So don’t worry or stress too much. What will be, will be.

Thank you ladies!

Baby was transverse at 32 weeks and had turned head down by last week at 36 weeks. I'm not sure if it helped at all but I'd been to a yoga class the night before. Good luck :-)

I wouldn't worry at this point - google 'spinning babies' which has lots of ideas/ positions you can practise in order to encourage baby into better position. My 1st didn't move into a better position until 36 weeks (she was born 6 weeks later) and I'm 32 weeks pregnant with 2nd and baby is definitely transverse atm! Best wishes xx
