I’ve managed to clean two rooms in the house today and now feel shattered. I’m 24 weeks pregnant and honestly, would happily spend the whole day in bed if I could. Unfortunately I now have to tackle the lounge and just can’t face it.

I thought the tiredness was meant to disappear after the first trimester - is that just a pregnancy myth? Does anyone else feel the same?

I'm 21+2 with my first and I was feeling full of energy from 13 weeks to 18 weeks but then the tiredness returned. I struggle to get off my sofa and I feel your pain!

debbs77 · 12/01/2020 14:38

I am VERY early in pregnancy (did an early test so am only 3 weeks and 3 days!!!). Come 7pm ish I am out like a light, for about 20 minutes then awake again full of beans!!!!

Boymummy3 · 12/01/2020 14:42

Been exhausted since day dot to even now at 38 weeks... I did get put on iron tablets which helped a bit but I was 28 weeks by then so they only really helped for about 2/3 weeks.

Caspianberg · 12/01/2020 14:48

Yes pretty tired at 24 weeks also. But I have been sleeping badly, so only slept 10pm-3am last night.

Spent 3-6am reading in bed
6-9am working (from home so just laptop on sofa)
9am until now - had a bath, took a short 30 min walk through woods behind house, and then pottered around doing odd bits at home.

I'm 3 children in and 7 years later and still permanently tired haha

Tableclothing · 12/01/2020 14:50

Fucking exhausted. 38 weeks.

I was very tired at the start of the second trimester and turned out to be anaemic. Felt like I was wading through treacle. Iron tablets took a while to kick in but did help.

ME. Only 6 weeks pg, but so tired.

Went to see Star Wars with DH last night at 5pm, and I slept through the first half hour. And that is a noisy film!

At lunch with my parents today, I felt myself nodding off while my poor old dad was talking to me Blush

BabyG08 · 12/01/2020 15:58

Seriously tired all the bloody time! I’m 9+1 weeks with my first pregnancy and all my motivation has gone. I’m usually quite the clean freak and like everywhere to be tidy and clean in the house and I find myself just wanting to lie on the sofa all day and do nothing. Work is so draining at the minute too! I hope the spring in my step returns soon (if that’s even a possibility)!

Do it.

goldeline · 12/01/2020 16:15

31+5 and I've been tired throughout. Hoping my nesting instincts will override tiredness and PGP so I can be a little bit productive at some point before baby arrives..

Eggcellent29 · 12/01/2020 16:27

Me! Currently 33 weeks and I never got the whole second trimester energy thing, total myth!

LucaFritz · 12/01/2020 16:30

Im 38 weeks and constantly need a nap its perfectly normal its your body's way of saying relax and sleep before the baby comes but that's easier said than done when you also have pregnancy insomnia heartburn and spd Hmm think I'll be tired for some time yet 😂

LucaFritz · 12/01/2020 16:31

@Eggcellent29 i think the glowing is also a myth too unless thats code for sweating 😂

lllllllllll · 13/01/2020 08:33

Thanks for the replies - it’s not just me then! My iron levels are fine apparently, so it’s nothing to do with that. Does the tiredness get even harder to deal with during the third trimester? I’m assuming that it does!

I had basically no symptoms in my first pregnancy except a slightly itchy belly button so was sure I would escape it 2nd time.

From the day i found out i have been exhausted all the time. I have about 15 short naps a day, everytime I sit down. I get this horrible feeling of exhaustion come over me that I need to sleep that second or I'm going to die. DS has spent the last 9 months nudging me and shouting 'wake up mummy'. Roll on the next two weeks until this baby is out!

SuddenArborealStop · 13/01/2020 08:47

I've been exhausted for months and it only seems to get worse, the two year oldd sleep regression has helped Hmm
I nap when I can but I never wake up refreshed. I'm currently lying in bed trying to fully wake up so I can get to hospital appointment to be told my iron is fine again.

sprite25 · 14/01/2020 08:41

Same here, I'm just over 30 weeks and am constantly tired, just don't want to do anything but easier said than done with other kids. I've been taking iron tablets for low iron for a few weeks and apart from constipation they haven't helped so far. The only time I feel awake is around 3-4 in the morning when I want to be sleeping

MrsRocket · 16/01/2020 14:09

Permanently shattered! 2nd trimester was a tiny bit better than the first but now at 30+3 and suffering from hip,leg and back pains sleep is very much a thing of the past. Try to drink plenty of water, preserve energy and eat healthy
