Can my dates be "off" even though I had an IUI?

I got pregnant via IUI, which I would assume means that the doctors knew exactly when I'd ovulated (Nov 27, 2019). I had my first appointment last Monday Jan 6, 2020. By my math, I was 7weeks + 5 days pregnant. The doctors record suggested I should be 6 weeks + 3 days (not sure why the discrepancy) and the early u/s showed me at 5 weeks + 6 days and no heartbeat.

The doctor concluded that I have a missed miscarriage and suggested that I wait two weeks to allow my body to miscarry naturally. Aside from feeling tired occasionally, I've never had any pregnancy or miscarriage symptoms. I still do not.

I do trust the doctor but is it wrong for me to have some hope that maybe the u/s wasn't accurate? Is it possible that my recorded ovulation date was off - hence being behind on my measurements and showing no heartbeat - even though I got pregnant via an IUI?

Sorry to hear you are going through this, unfortunately the dr is properly correct. If you had the procedure 7 weeks ago but only ovulated 5 weeks ago you would not have got pregnant. This suggests you did ovulate at the time you think, or at least within a couple days of then.
It is possible for scans to be out slightly but not usually by 2 weeks. But please ensure they do another scan to confirm before discussing treatment with you.
I have had 3 missed miscarriage and never had any signs so unfortunately that doesn't mean anything.
Hopefully the scan was wrong and it all turns out ok but you should prepare for the worst. Good luck x

They probally are correct and unfortunately only time will tell but sure they got to take into account implantation too aswell as ovulation? It can take upto 7-10 days after ov. From their date and your scan dates that's only 3 days out. HB are rarely seen that early too they usually say between 8/9 weeks im surprised they havnt offered to rescan in a weeks time.could this be something you ask for? Or Hcg levels checked? I don't want to get your hopes up of course as none of us can tell you for definite what's going on.
