Hi all, I need some advice, ive just finished my NQT year very successfully! I am about to start a new job at a school alot closer to home. However during the hols ive found out im 17 weeks pregnant (not planned) but DH and i are very pleased. However I have this huge cloud hanging over my head about this new job - as I hate to let people down. Would you tell the head on your first day back or wait a little so they can see im good at my job!!
Im a secondary PE teacher - so they are going to have to work around me quite a lot.

Any reasurance would be very grateful

Thanks xx

Good luck mummlittle! Telling your head straight away is best and remember that you are ALLOWED to be preg and the law is on your side.
My friend moved down to England at the start of the year (we are from Scotland) and then found out she was pregnant just weeks after starting there. She stressed about telling her boss and so left it as late as possible, ie when she was starting to show.
I was about to be in your position, so I really do sympathise, as I was about to apply for a job, and had spoken to the head there about applying, but then got my good news that I am pregnant, so I have decided to stay at the school I am at for just now. (I am almost seven weeks).
