Is it normal to be really irritated by your partner when you're pregnant?

I don't know if it's hormones, but little things that I previously found endearing about my DP are really pissing me off. Things like he can't just say something really simple, he'll give multiple examples of it and I find myself thinking "just shut up!" Another thing is that we've always been silly with each other - tickling each other, making my DCs toys talk or dance in front of each other and now when he does it I think "Just fuck off".

He hasn't changed anything that he's doing. It's all just winding me up. I don't remember feeling this way with my XH, however he generally wound me up anyway!

Has anyone else experienced this? Are hormones just making me really irritable?

I was obsessed with my partner when I was pregnant, I could stare at him all day. He was all I thought about when I was at work and I was always so excited to get home.

Once the LO was here it was the opposite, he just annoys me 😂

Oh I love this thread! I’m ok with DH, only if he’s done something that would annoy me anyway (like losing things) can I feel the eye rolls. But strangers? Wow! Normally I am so friendly and will happily chat to anyone, but now I cannot stand people. If I have to approach someone in a shop for example, I just really really don’t want to talk to them. It clearly comes across so now DH has to do all my talking for me. Although I’m sure my face is saying a lot!

Pregnancy is making me very antisocial and grumpy!

I love MN and this thread! Been getting enraged on the tube (also smelling humans around me makes me feel sick haha, even though my morning sickness isn't usually very bad!) Why won't people get out of my WAY 😂

Very interesting what previous posters said about strangers....I hadn't connected the two things but, my god, are people really getting on my nerves at the minute.
I was on a train the other day and everyone was annoying me. People talking to loud, not taking their seats quickly enough, being on the phone, getting up and down too often, people walking through the carriage....and then some poor girl sat in the empty seat next to me and I literally wanted to hurl her out the window!!!
I'm normally a nice friendly person, honest!

@allthesharks I realise this is an old thread but your post just saved my day and I thought you should know. Newly pregnant with new partner who is AMAZING with my DC, and amazing with me and I literally hate him right now. Everything he does is annoying. I took myself off to bed in tears as he was so annoying (in no way was he actually annoying) and found your post which made me laugh out loud and diffused the whole thing. Right down to the comment about the ex husband - literally had just been considering how he hadn’t been so annoying when I was pregnant with my first 2 and then realised he was ALWAYS annoying and that’s why I divorced him....

Feel like I’m at the very start of a long hormonal road.

Thank you x
