Thrush Treatment - pregnant

Has anyone used Thrush treatment when pregnant?
I was prescribed a pessary, used one and found it sooo uncomfortable.
I spoke to my GP and she’s prescribed an internal cream instead.
It’s a pre filled applicator. It says it’s fine to use in pregnancy but I’ve read some things saying applicators shouldn’t be used.

I really need to use something to treat this but the pessary was just awful.

Anyone else used the cream with the applicator when pregnant?
30+6 weeks.

I can remember using thrush treatment when I was pregnant with DS1 some 25 years ago. I was paranoid about using anything and rang the out of hours doctor service who said it would be fine, and so it was. I was about the same stage of pregnancy as you and I think it was Canestan that I used. Sorry I can't remember whether it was a pessary or cream.

I used a gel pessary without the applicator & it worked fine and was perfectly safe. x

I had this and used cream Canesten only. You can apply it with your fingers if you're scared of the applicator. I've read recently a few doctors recommended doing so, although you could use applicator but with caution.

Hey, I've suffered with thrush BADLY in my life in general as any smallest hormonal change will bring it back. So frustrating! When I got pregnant I got it instantly (one of the first signs I was) and used gel pessaries to get rid of it. Then I accidentally found Opti Bac in my local pharmacy which is a probiotic and I swear by it. I take one every day. Bit expensive but honestly worth it. I am now pregnant for the second time, never stopped taking the probiotic and (touch wood) no thrush this time!

The applicator will be absolutely fine!! Xx

I’ve had about 3/4 of them. Still have thrush 😭

I was prescribed canesten combi (pessary and external cream) and it sorted me right out thankfully.

Annoying that I had to get a prescription for it though as the pharmacist wouldn't sell it to me over the counter due to being pregnant ...

But my GP was very happy to prescribe Confused

I just didn't use the applicator to insert the pessary so maybe just put the cream in without using the applicator.
