Sat watching TV and suddenly have pain in the lower back, loads of pressure like he has suddenly moved way down and mid period like cramps. Baby is breech and is now kicking very low.

I know it is probably braxton hicks as only 34 weeks but just wanted to check that I would know the difference?

Does it ease if you change position? With paracetamol? A bath? If your pains are not going and are getting stronger then it's labour.. If they are not getting stronger etcc then it's braxton hicks. It can be sometimes hard to tell the difference esp if the BH are painfull but they will ease off if they are. You could give triage a call and they may get you in to be monitored to see if they are contractions or not. Is this your first baby? My contractions started off as a stitch like pain with my first for a few hours then eventually turned into painfull period pains in my back / lower stomach... With my 2nd the period type pains hit me hard no warnings or nothing and they got very intense very quickly... This one I've been having strong BH for weeks x

I had tons of a Braxton Hicks in the last 12 weeks of my pregnancy, however, when I woke up in the middle of the night with labour pains, I knew. It was a different kind of pain to the Braxton Hicks.

Just back ache for me. Didn't realise I was in labour at first.
I'd phone the hospital to get checked over for reassurance
