Is 72/52 low BP? They said was on the low side.. maybe why I've been feelin faint the the last while.. anybody else have any experience with this.. I'm 28+4. Does ur BP raise as your pregnancy goes on, as I've had to cancel alot of things since feelin this way ..

It might stay low just depends what's normal for you during pregnancy l had low BP around the same amount of weeks but was unusual for me. Midwife advised drinking as much as I could each day (at least 8 pints) and eating little and often to help sort me out. It did work

Yes it is on the low side and could be causing your dizziness. Pregnancy can do whacky things to BP. Mine has stayed low the whole time so far (26 weeks) but I’ve always had low BP due to my disability. Has it been low since booking in?

You must be extra vigilant in making sure you drink enough, I aim for 2-3l a day depending on what I’m doing. It’ll make the frequent loo breaks more but will keep you up right. A bit of salt will also help, ready salted crisps are my go to. Eat little and often. That’s kept my BP above 90 (top number) so far.

Mine is low, it’s low when I’m not pregnant & it seems to drop more when I am! Drink lots of water & don’t ever go hungry! Salt is helpful..

My midwife always says it’s better to be low than high.. and as blood pressure can rise in pregnancy, if you are starting from a low point, it’s not so bad!

Have they checked your iron levels as well? That can cause dizziness?

Penny12355 · 18/12/2019 10:39

They said I'm borderline for iron so I've been takin iron tablets for a week now, I have a baby class on Friday and there teaching all about different pain relief in pregnancy but it's like a class full of women and they can bring their partners and I dont think I'm gonna be able to go cause it seems to get worse when I panic a bit or get nervous .. so I might cancel it and go to my midwife on friday instead and there is another one in January the 9th then the last baby class is febuary the 14th, and when I get them dizzy spells nothing helps it unless I lye down then it goes away it's so strange, I just go all warm and see wee black dots as if I'm gonna pass out, and the baby class is at 9.15 and it's always a bit worse in the morning for some reason?!

I also have Gestational diabetes but dont think it's anything to do with that as anytime I have done my blood sugar it's always around 5 or 6

Hi Penny, that is a low blood pressure and if you’re feeling dizzy with it, it’s too low for you and you’re at risk of fainting.

As previous posters have said, drink AT LEAST 2L of COLD fluids per day. Be careful when you get up from sitting and lying - take your time and move slowly. Also be careful if you have a bath - your blood pressure will drop further in warm water. If you feel dizzy, sit down and try and raise your legs above the level of your heart (or at least put your feet up on a stool)

I assume you don’t take any regular medication, but if you do check if they have an effect on your blood pressure with your GP because they may need to be changed.

If your symptoms continue after 3 days of drinking 2-3 litres of fluid, see your GP.

Thanks its really annoying me! Does ur blood pressure go up near the end of pregnancy?? I just cant wait to feel better I'm a bit scared to leave my house incase it happens. . Tried to cancel my 28 week midwife appointment on friday cause it's like a check up then a room full of girls like a class and on Friday we learn about pain relief but the worst thing is we get blood tests on Friday and i HATE needles so I'm gonna feel extra sick 😂😂😂
