I was still trying to lose baby weight from my last pregnancy when I found out I am pregnant again. Ds is 7 months and I'm about 8 weeks. Even though I have managed to lose 2 stone my bmi is still 31.2. I have been following slimming world but have been reading it is not advised to do this during pregnancy. I have also read the health implications being overweight can cause the baby and myself but the NHS says don't diet during pregnancy. Has anyone been in this situation where they have had advice from their doctor or midwife? Is slimming world safe to follow if altered slightly? Or how many calories are advised a day when pregnant and trying to maintain current weight? Thank you in advance :)

Slimming world of fine. You need extra As and Bs.

I was told you don’t need any extra calories at all during most of pregnancy, and only an extra 200 in the last few weeks. So find a TDEE calculator and work from that (the 2000 calories a day advice is outdated and a bad measure, many women need nothing like that much) Slimming World is pretty crap in a lot of ways, you’d be much better off with watching your calories and having plenty of good fats, veggies, whole grains and eating proper food

Slimming world is perfectly fine during pregnancy its more like decent food choices than a diet. If you go to group the speak with them about if they recommend tweaking it for pregnancy but honestly when I was going to group their was several Pregnant ladies there. I also told my mw I was following it and she didn't advise me not too she said it's good to do. Other than that you don't need to actually diet just make decent food choices don't over feed yourself etc and you should be fine x
