Hi everyone,

Looking for advice on managing hyperemesis. I'm 6+1 and already been admitted with it due to severe dehydration and ketones in my urine as a result.

Fluids, fluids and more fluids. Can anyone offer advice? I really don't want to keep ending up in hospital x

Come over to the Hyperemesis thread! You’ll find a reem of advice & lots of us who suffer or have suffered in the past!

Sending love, it’s an awful awful illness.

Sorry you are experiencing this - it is awful. Medication may be the only answer for getting through without hospitalisations/lots of time off work. Omeprazole worked for me (though it is not one that is normally prescribed there is evidence that it is safe in pregnancy). It wasn't totally gone but more manageable, back to work, and no more hospitalisations!

@Hayley94 please come join is on hyperemesis support. This page has been my life saver over the last 5 months. I was in hospital countless times for medication and fluids with at home care as well. Sometimes up to 4 times a week for fluids and iv anti sickness meds and then follow on stuff at home to keep me out of hospital. The support from this group has been so amazing. HG is awful so seek as much help as you can. I was on up to 6 different medications a day to get me through and still on 2 of them 3 times a day now at 21 weeks. Sending you a big hug. We are here to support you.
