I'm 33wk+1 and for the past few weeks I've had the worst pains 'down below' and my left hip mainly (pelvic girdle pain??)
It's particularly bad when I get up from sitting a while, in bed trying to turn over, walking and getting in and out of a car. Oh and especially when stepping into the shower and getting dressed!! Shock
I know this is just part of being pregnant but I was just wondering if anyone had found anything that helped them ease the pain a little? And did the pains go once you had the baby?

Sounds like spd. I found and elastic support belt pulled right round my hips helped a bit but not that much (sorry!)
Good luck x

whatdayisit2 I'll give that a go, anything is worth a try, thank you!

Just posted this on another thread but I'll copy and paste here! I'm pretty sure I've got PGP and I've found doing the following has kept my pain pretty in check (though my mobility has definitely reduced as the pregnancy has progressed)

  • Walking really slowly
  • Taking steps one at a time
  • Not carrying heavy stuff
  • Not doing breaststroke when swimming
  • Not sitting cross legged or with my legs bent underneath me
  • Not sleeping on my back
  • Wearing a support belt when I know I'll be doing lots of walking (though tbh this is less effective now the effects of my physio session have worn off)

You could look into seeing one of the pelvic partnership recommended physios as well, all of them have experience with treating PGP
