I'm really hoping this is me panicking too soon, but in need of some advice.

I nipped the loo before bed around 9.30 tonight and noticed pink mucus with small spots of blood on tissue. I wasn't worried too much at this point, but gave my midwife unit a call to be on safe side ...who from my description reassured me all was fine and I wouldn't need to come in to be checked.

I've nipped the loo a couple more times for same result, and tried to get to bed but had trouble settling so nipped for a bath as back a little achey tonight. Got out, nipped loo again and this was result of blood on this occasion (around 11.30pm). It's certainly far more in quantity than before and getting redder - with some also getting on hand/dripping in loo. It now looks more like fresh period blood, and I'm now over-analysing every twinge/cramp. Should I call the unit back again?

Thanks in advance x

Yes ring then now.
Never a call wasted to a mw.

TheBananaStand2 · 15/11/2019 00:12

Hi OP, you might as well give them a call - they would never be angry with you for checking.

InvisibleWomenMustBeRead · 15/11/2019 00:12

Yes - agree, call them. Hope you're ok Op.

habipprtyh · 15/11/2019 00:15

Definitely call, that's what they are for.

How far along are you?

ewod · 15/11/2019 00:15

Thanks, off to do that then. Sorry if my post made little sense, for some reason the accompanying picture wouldn't post. Fingers crossed all okay, as I'm currently 37 weeks +3 days

I had flecks of blood in the toilet everytime I went for a wee on the Sunday, it increased each time. Early hours of the Monday morning my waters started to slowly go and they were quite bloody. Contractions started shortly after and DD arrived before 8am. So for me that was a very big sign that things were starting :) hope all ok when you call the mw

Did you speak to the midwife OP?

ewod · 16/11/2019 05:14

Thanks to everyone who replied to me Thursday night. I called and was sent up to MAU to get checked out; turned out I was already 4cm dilated! Baby born the Friday morning at 10.41am so a close call! Thanks for the advice 🥰
