Aspirin dose for low PAPP-A

I feel like I've been prescribed a higher dose than necessary for aspirin due to my low PAPP-A results. Everywhere I've looked women were prescribed 75mg and on the mayo clinic website it says you should take no more than 100mg.

Yet my GP is giving me 150mg. I feel like they're experimenting on me.
Should I only take 75mg? They come in two 75mg packs anyhow.

Hiya I was prescribed Aspirin too and they told me the dose is dependent on bmi, so a higher bmi needs a higher dose.

@FindaPenny Can I ask how much you were prescribed?
My BMI is pretty much perfect at 21 with my height and weight.

I was prescribed 75mg and I think my bmi is higher than yours😂

I was prescribed it from 12 weeks on because I had an eclampsia fit after birth in 1st pregnancy... Not so much because I have had any symptoms this time.

Lots of studies being undertaken at the mo to suggest 150mg is better than 75mg, however some trusts haven't yet updated their guidelines so there seems to be a lot of national variation in advice.

Currently 36 weeks pregnant with low Papp-A, taking 75mg x

I was first told to take 150mg from 6 weeks, but looking online I saw that it should start at 12 weeks so I didn't take anything... Then when I went to my booking appointment they said take 75mg from 12 weeks based on my bmi. It seems the guidelines for it are very confused and in the past I think people were given up to 300mg

I was prescribed 150 because of low papp a and have been taking it since about 12 weeks. Am now 28 weeks. All tests and scans since have been completely normal. Check with a dr if you're concerned op.

I was prescribed 75mg with DS1 for low Papp-A, I have this again this time and have been given 150mg as there is new evidence that 75mg isn't effective enough. I think most are prescribed 150 now xx

I may add I took 75mg daily with DS 1 and was induced at 37 weeks for static growth, so 75mg did not work for me x
