@MrsR16 Nesting sounds like a good idea! Our house is such a mess at the moment mid-decorating and I cant wait for it all to be done so I can tidy!!

@BabySquid Fabulous bump! Glad you had such a brilliant time. I’m starting to think that pain sleeping is all just part and parcel of being pregnant now! At my yoga class everyone complains of it!

@Tropicana1 I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about!

@purplefig Yeah it was amazing to hear! Apparently IVF twins are more likely to be small but she never explained why. But yeah, induction is less likely for growth - it could still be needed for other reasons but it’s nice to have one of them off the list! How are you feeling, sleeping any better?

@ELW85 I did sleep a little bit better! I still woke up about 4:30 but slept all the way from 10 til then which is amazing! I feel like I’m slowly getting used to just being tired now! Glad you managed a better sleep!

@PippaPug Glad you got the radiator sorted! Yeah I’m amazed at how care changes from place to place but I think the main thing is as long as someone is seeing us at least once a month then that’s great!! How have you been feeling? I’m 24+4 today and really starting to feel uncomfortable now. My bump measured approx 32 weeks yesterday!! 32!!! She thinks they must be lying all at the front.

@cupcakesandglitter From doing some googling I think at the 28 week appt they’ll more start telling me what I can and can’t do in the birth - like start laying out all of my options? So I’m not gonna worry too much and wait to see what they say! My only ‘preference’ is everyone arrives happy and healthy and all are safe and well! I love the bong haha - how are you feeling today?

Christmas date day was awesome yesterday, but it’s a big old day of cleaning ahead of the family landing for Christmas today.

@MrsEG - how was Jumanji? I hope you had a nice day! I don’t think we’ll be seeing midnight either on NYE 😂

@LokiCat - so pleased to hear that the bleeding has subsided. Never fee silly for going back repeatedly; you know how you feel and it’s so much better to get checked out.
How are you feeling about NYC tomorrow? I hope you have an amazing time!
Just got the changing unit to put up in the nursery but when we put the cot up, we realised that they hadn’t delivered the mattress so I need to call them tomorrow 😫
It’s so lovely that your DH got to feel little one move for his birthday 😊 I bet it was so emotional! Xx

It’s so wonderful that you get to feel her and that DH got to hear a heartbeat. When my DH has cuddles with bump recently, little one kicked him in the head 😂

I'm sooo excited about NYC, we should be there by midnight UK time! Also, the weather seems to have warmed up a bit over there thankfully. Still got all my layers ready 😁

We picked up our Snuzpod yesterday from a lady who put theirs up on Facebook marketplace. They went through every little bit to show us how it all worked, it was so sweet. I'm so happy with it! Just need to buy a new mattress for it now. DH also surprised me with a giraffe he found on eBay that I really wanted for the nursery, it's almost 5ft tall!! The brand new ones are £100, so I'm glad he found a secondhand one for a cheaper price. They also gave some baby hippos to go with it 😂 (attached a photo).

All packed and ready to go. We fly out at 4pm today, so excited!!

@ELW85 I'm ok actually work well it's work I'm already counting down till maternity leave!! 19 weeks and got our 20 week scan next week on nye!

@LokiCat I couldn't work out what it was initially but after speaking to friends it was likely baby having a wriggle!

Just today and tomorrow to do at work!! Woo hoo!! Xx

@LokiCat - have a wonderful time in NYC! I highly recommend the massive sharing food at Carmine’s if you can get in (they can get you in without a reservation for just the two of you, usually!) and everything is pasteurised so you’re safe!

We’re finishing the nursery tonight and the mattress is getting delivered tomorrow so it’s all falling into place.

When are you going off for your mat leave? I’ve just had a quick check and mine is in 10 weeks. How terrifying! Totally don’t feel ready for it at all!

@daisiesandpeonies - getting kicked is fantastic isn’t it? My little one has been doing flips for the past few days, which is really reassuring. I also feel massive, which I’m sure will only increase in the next few weeks.

I survived collecting the food at M&S last night.
M&S was actually fairly civilised; I was shocked! One woman literally threw a basket away as she (loudly) couldn’t be arsed to queue but that was about the extent of the drama.

@cupcakesandglitter - oh I must have miscounted! I’m going to be off w/c 9th March. Hopefully you get your bath soon, but I’m sure the shower is lovely 😊

Today is going to be packed! WFH, Finishing the nursery, popping to town and then in to host my brother and his fiancé for a bit. Going to need a proper holiday after this 😂

@ELW85 I don't really know when to go off on maternity leave. EDD is 18/5 I've had conflicting advice some saying leave it as late as poss and some saying couple of weeks before due date. Any pearls of wisdom ladies?

Morning all! Happy Christmas Eve! I am feeling sorry for myself these last few days - I hate to complain and bring the thread tone down but jeez I just feel PREG AF! I am currently dealing on a daily basis with PGP now so bad I struggle to walk, heartburn all day, carpal tunnel in both hands when I wake up, very swollen feet, and end-of-day breathlessness that’s so bad I sometimes struggle to talk (babies just LOVE to shove their heads up in to my diaphragm when my belly is full!) I am just seriously feeling it now!
As such I’ve done bugger all the last few days ha! Saw friends on Sunday including one of my best friends who lives abroad and is also expecting, which was lovely. Monday I’m sure I did something but it’s already gone - yesterday I popped to a local sling library to say hello and chat about twin carrying - and that’s it. Today I plan on napping and Netflix-ing all day long!
I’ll try and get a bump pic today as it’s crazy - the idea I have 5 more weeks to grow too...

@ELW85 Jumanji was actually pretty good! It was at our new local cinema which has individual comfy chairs and footrests so it was a dream! Glad to hear you survived the M&S shop!! I am just avoiding supermarkets entirely this week!! Enjoy finishing the nursery - I still need cot mattresses and to put up some shelves, that’s next weeks plans!

Re: going off on mat leave, sweet lord if this is what the final weeks are like for everyone, go off early haha! Or at least ask for the flexibility to go earlier than planned if you need to. I’ve never found pregnancy more physically demanding than I have these past few days!

Well, we’ve just finished the nursery. Love it! It’s all getting very real now.
DH is currently building the Snuzpod and then we’re off to town for a bit.

@MrsEG supposed to be the 31st for mat leave but things haven't gone quite to plan 🤦🏼‍♀️ just as an aside, if the heartburn is really bad ask your go for omeprazole. Mine prescribed it 2 months ago and I went from agony to not a single rennies / drop of gaviscon passing my lips!!

Well ladies had my 38 week appointment yesterday and mentioned I had itchy hands and feet. Had bloods and a phone call this morning to say I have cholestasis and my bloods are quite severe so currently in hospital to be induced. Had the pessary and just waiting for things to hopefully kick off!

Happy Christmas eve ladies! We've had a very chilled day, health visitor came today and Joe is back to his birth weight 😀 Tomorrow we're at my parents for Christmas Dinner, they're so excited!

So I have ended up in hospital most of the day today! The swelling in my right foot and leg was so severe that there is a slight blood clot worry. I’m still waiting on the consultant to come and take a look and may need a scan of my leg but we’re all hoping it’s just the weight of the twins and all their juices causing havoc on my hips and legs now. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! Re watched my positive birth company induction videos so feeling optimistic and trying to stay positive and happy. DH is allowed to stay with me on the ward which is nice! Only downside is family are all down for Xmas and I was at work when I got the call so I'm already being semi bombarded with texts asking me if the babies here yet etc 🙄

I'm sorry for missing anyone! There's been so much happen on here! Ethan is keeping me well and truly on my toes... 😂 little chunker is now weighing in at 8lb 11oz - over a pound heavier than birth weight! Loads of Christmas wishes to all of you wonderful ladies! Outfit no. 2 already today 😂 xxx

Merry Christmas ladies! I made it out of hospital about 9:30 last night, suspected blood clot in my right leg so I have Clexane injections (hoped id see them back of them!) which are fine but much harder to do now I have way less belly fat to squeeze! I have a scan of my leg booked for Friday as when you’re pregnant that’s the only way they can confirm indefinitely. There is still a chance it’s just the babies causing a lot of swelling, but they could be lying awkwardly on a vein so I think the doctors are just being over-cautious! Will be having a very relaxing one today! Have a great day all and @Tropicana1 thinking of you!!

Not been on here for quite some time. Hope everyone is doing well. Merry Christmas from me and the little sleepy elf. 15 weeks now 🙈 time flies when you're having fun 😅

Thanks ladies! Born today just after midnight by caesarean after induction starting at 3pm on the 24th - if I take away anything from my positive birth company hypnobirthing it gave me the confidence to feel fully in control of my birth story every step of the way, including advocating for a caesarean when I knew it was right for me. I would so so recommend everyone does it for just that reason alone! Not quite the water birth I had wanted 😂 but definitely the right choice for us (happy to give more details about what aspects of induction weren't for me and when I made the decision if anyone wants but I don't want to alter anyone's mindset by just giving my version!)

Not got a name as yet, still trying to decide who she looks like (I think she looks like a bit of a potato haha but fingers crossed her real face will emerge 😂)

@Tropicana1 Congratulations!! Haha my friends little boy who is now 4 is still nicknamed Spud because she didn’t name him for weeks! I’d love to hear about your C-section if you don’t mind sharing at that’s what I’m thinking at the moment for the twins. Hope you’re getting plenty of help and rest this morning!

Think I’m all caught up! Leg is feeling a bit better but uggghhh injecting Clexane in to a swollen belly is no fun at all. I have all my fingers crossed that the scan tomorrow comes back clear so I can stop them!!
Hope everyone had a fab Christmas Day with babies or bumps - ours was lovely and relaxed and we got so many more presents for the boys! Off to our friends Boxing Day party today then seeing my sister and niece tomorrow. We also have some family over from Ireland who we are supposed to be seeing Sunday but I’m gonna just see how I feel - I need my naps!! They are notorious for keeping us out for hours and hours too.
