Cannot believe I’m meeting my little man in just over a month 😳! I’m so excited, trying not to get too nervous about the section as I’ve had more complex surgeries in the past. Just hoping all goes well, looking forward to being home with a little one and adjusting to new life as a mama 😬 xx

I'll be having a section end of Nov / beginning of Dec and quite honestly sh.tting myself.

Had DS1 naturally so even though no2, still have no idea what to expect. I'm absolutely dreading the recovery, especially with a 19 month old 😭😭😭.

Congratulations OP, guessing this is your first? Xxx

I'm booked in for a section at the beginning of December too! First baby, sooo excited but trying not to think of the spinal! 😂 x

Kate3150 · 03/11/2019 14:48

Yes I’m trying not to think about the actual procedure itself. Just trying to focus on seeing baby first time and he is my first one so cannot imagine what it’s going to feel like 💙.
I have a question, when packing a bag for baby for hospital do you just use the changing bag to put things in? I’m getting in a right pickle when people say one bag for mum and one for baby. I don’t want to waste money on bags lol. I’m taking small wheelie suitcase for myself x

Yep me too! My midwife and doctors think he may be putting in an early appearance though so we'll see if I end up with an emergency c section!
That's exactly what I've done, used his changing bag for his bits and a small cabin size suitcase for my bits xx

I had an ELCS last November and the spinal was fine (and I'm a wuss). Hope that reassures some of you!

Sleepinglemon · 03/11/2019 16:05

I'm packing my changing bag for baby. It's what I did last time and was fine. Have a weekly case for me, then big hold-all for pregnancy cushion and dressing gown. Seems like a lot, but nothing I can cut out really. My section is booked for the 2 weeks tomorrow. So excited to finally meet her.

Sleepinglemon · 03/11/2019 16:06

Doh! Auto correct. Wheely case.

Shaunieh95 · 03/11/2019 22:06

I took a cabin sized luggage case for me and a small hold-all for baby, but you'll be surprised how much stuff you don't end up using!

I didn't use my changing bag as everything wouldn't fit and didn't feel like I needed this as well as the hold all I took. I would pack yourself lots of snacks though 😂🙈. The hospital food can be crap I had a good supply in my cupboard thanks to DP. Also seen lots of advice about sports lid bottles and straws as wound will be tender.

The spinal I'm not so much worried about I ended up having to have an epidural with my first and tbh it wasn't bad at all! I'm more anxious about afterwards 😩. X

I’m booked in for 2nd week in Dec, since my 12 week scan and honestly I cannot wait!!! Having had a very traumatic natural birth 6 years ago, with epidurals spinal theatre and long recovery, I am looking forward to the calm and knowing exactly when and how!! Good luck ladies can’t wait to meet our little ones!
