Help! Am I losing waters or just discharge!

Hi guys, first thread!
I’m currently 38+4 days pregnant, I have been dilating for the past week, was last checked on Sunday and given a stretch and sweep. I was then 2cm when midwife checked.

Lost some of my plug yesterday and today. But this evening I was sat on the sofa and all of a sudden felt really wet. Went to toilet dried myself up, put a pad on which became wet too, although was clear it was very damp.

Put a maternity pad on and it’s a little damp but nothing major. Do you reckon it’s waters? Do I need to be ringing Mau? Advice please! My 3rd baby but previous children I had been induced. My cervix has never dilated on its own before, waters have never gone by themselves either!

Thank you x

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Sounds like it could be! Ring the midwife/hospital - they might want you to go in for a check.

Sounds like it, that would be a lot of discharge to wet through a pad quickly. Keep the pad if you can, ring the hospital/labour line and they may be able to tell what it is.

You could have a tear higher up so it leaks rather than a gush

The maternity wards have special pads that change colour with your waters so they know it’s not wee!

Ring and see if they’re busy because if there is a tear there’s a risk of infection

Sounds like it to me.

Best call the midwife Grin

Lie down, feet up, for half an hour and then stand. If there’s a gush it’s waters

Agree with PP's ring to get checked out to be on the safe side.
How exciting! 😬

Hey, been to hospital, had contractions start then stop, not my waters but I am 2cm dilated & 75% effaced 🤞🏻
