Hiding pregnancy from 10 yo

I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and feeling absolutely awful. Very sick and tired. My 10 yesr old dd is quite an anxious child and is a bit upset at the thought that I'm poorly. I don't want to tell her yet, really, I want to wait til 12 weeks at least. Equally, I don't want her to get upset about me being ill!

Anyone else been in a similar position? What did you say?

I hid it from my 8 year old until 16 weeks when I started showing. Just covered up the sickness by saying I had a bug. Felt bad lying to her but she accepted it.

Was she ok to think it was a bug even though it went on for a while? I guess kids don't think about things like that in the same way we would!
