Hi ladies im currently 9 weeks pregnant and i feel like shit, hormones playing with my emotions, one week my heads in the toilet bowl the next im downing bread and melted cheese. Its my first pregnancy and didnt expect this to be honest i always imagined myself working out eating perfectly healthy and so far i just want to sleep all day. Any advice or is anyone experiencing similar symptoms.

I’ve felt awful but nothing compared to some of you brave ladies. Mines just constant nausea. Sending Flowers to all who need them x

firsttimeivfmum · 20/10/2019 12:23

I'm up and down. One day I feel ok. The next (including today) I feel like I can barely lift my head from the pillow. I have not been sick but feel consistently nauseous. I must admit I am feeling rough. I am so grateful I work part time at this point as I don't think I'd make it through a whole week at work. I teach so it's pretty full on.

I feel your pain.

sao81 · 20/10/2019 16:36

Been diagnosed with hyperemesis 😥 lots of rest and toast for the next few weeks for me. Dr said that early scan I had would of been too soon to rule out twins for definite, now I'm worrying that I'll have 3 kids under 3 🙈

Courtney555 · 20/10/2019 16:47

@sao81

Flowers oh no, hope you feel better soon as can be.

Are the twins in your family identical or non identical?

(Derailing thread somewhat, hope OP doesn't mind)

sao81 · 20/10/2019 17:12

@courtney555 both 🤦‍♀️ on both sides aswell! So I've got 3 sets of twin cousins that I can think of (my nans got 40 grandchildren), 2 sets non-identical 1 set identical. Then my partner has cousins who are identical, and sisters non-identical. I think he said his grandad was a twin too but don't know what kind

Courtney555 · 20/10/2019 17:18

@sao81

I've learned that the identical ones are not hereditary. It's just an egg splitting and this is not transferred genetically through a family, it's absolute chance every time it happens. This was brand new information to me.

It's the non identical ones that are hereditary. Only on the woman's side. "She" can be genetically more likely to release two eggs at a time. So, my understanding is, it's irrelevant what the history of your DP is, however it is relevant for you to have non identical twin cousins.

sao81 · 20/10/2019 17:57

@courtney555 aah thats good to know! Will have to wait until 12 week scan to know for certain. Hopefully the sickness has calmed down by then

Raindancer411 · 20/10/2019 19:14

All this talk of twins makes me want to derail the topic lol I am an identical twin myself. At birth we had two placentas so my mum was told we were non identical. Everyone always thought we was. To cut a long story short we had dna done and it turns out, we are identical. We been living a lie lol

Courtney555 · 20/10/2019 19:22

@Raindancer411

Aw congratulations! We only know ours are non id because they're boy/girl.

I think...

One placenta means has to be identical (except in extreme rare cases). Two placentas but same sex usually means it's resulted from two eggs so non id, but in some cases it's one egg that split and each half creates it's own placenta. It's not extra rare, but it's certainly not common.

I've just been on a oh shit we're having twins course. Can you tell Grin

Raindancer411 · 20/10/2019 19:24

Yes boy and girl mix can only be non identical as you say. I heard it misses a generation so I would be shocked if I was pregnant with twins. My mum carried us to full term too!!

meow1989 · 20/10/2019 19:29

My first trimester was spent vomiting or sleeping, I'd nap when I got home from work, get up for an hour or so then sleep some more.

Eat what you feel like within guidelines and take your pregnancy vitamins. I quite often comment that ds was grown on mcdonalds and I also assumed I would be having 84 fruit and veg a day and wandering round all glowy. It's a nice idea.

sao81 · 20/10/2019 21:10

@meow1989 oh how i long to be told im.glowing, alls ive had today is "you look grey" "you look like death" haha. I've been craving dominos but scared I'll be sick and it'll ruin it for me, maybe too soon for now

sao81 · 20/10/2019 21:12

@Courtney555 sounds like a fun course 😂

Bean2020 · 23/10/2019 09:13

Here we go again Confused had a few days restbite with no sickness and thought it had ended, but yesterday and today back in bed with that stomach churning nausea & exhaustion Sad feel so glum...haven't worked for the best part of 6 weeks now and everytime I think I can go back this happens. Wondering if the 16 week milestone really is the turning point??
Sorry for the rant and sending love to anyone going through the same.

sao81 · 23/10/2019 12:48

@Bean2020 I really hope you feel better soon there's nothing worse than constant sickness. I got.signed off yesterday and today feel ok so hoping that rest is doing me good

Courtney555 · 23/10/2019 12:52

@Bean2020 if it's any consolation, by 16 weeks, I was so much better. Infact, probably by 13/14 weeks I had reached a level of being able to function albeit still queasy.

I genuinely thought I was dying up until then Grin it will get better, it's very easy for me to say that now though, at the time I would have happily taken up the offer of voluntary coma

Bean2020 · 23/10/2019 12:58

Thank you @sao81 & @Courtney555 - find these threads so helpful and creates a supportive space for us all. X

sao81 · 23/10/2019 13:29

@courtney555 i cried for a surrogate yesterday Grin cant wait for it to pass

Emmaalice90 · 11/10/2021 14:38

I’m glad it’s not just me. I don’t want to do anything l, just sleep and eat shit. I’ve been a gym goer most of my adult life as in 6/7 days a week with nothing but healthy meals. Will my love for the healthy lifestyle ever come back? It’s making me feel so so low.

MarmaladeToastAndAMarmaladeCat · 11/10/2021 17:49

Hello my people I have found you all. I’m 10 weeks with my third and feel truly horrendous. I had very bad sickness with my first 2 but I think it is even worse this time. And now I’ve got a 2 and 4 year old to look after while feeling like this so that’s just great 😆

I don’t feel like I’ve eaten anything with any vitamins in for weeks. I can’t even go into a shop to see what I can eat just the sight and smell of the food makes me sick.

Really hoping it passes soon. I had it until 16 weeks with my eldest but with my second I had it badly until 22 weeks and it got a little better but didn’t fully go until he was born 😱 don’t think I’ll survive if it lasts this long this time.
