Thrush in Early Pregnancy

Hi all, not a nice topic I know! I’m 6 weeks pregnant and have had thrush for the past few days. I bought the Canesten combi and have applied some of the cream (feels better already!) but now I’ve noticed all the warnings on the box about not using it in pregnancy! The reason I thought it was fine is that I was prescribed it in my last pregnancy, but that was in the second trimester.

Has anyone else used it this early in pregnancy? Is it ok to use at this stage? I was just going to use the cream and leave the pessary if I can get away with it. Thanks!

@SunshineShorts Firstly, congratulations on your pregnancy! 💖
I'm 16+6 and I had thrush about a month ago, I went to my doctors and they prescribed Canesten due too, pessary and cream. Got rid of it in no time so I wouldn't worry! X

Cream and pessary are fine but you can’t take the tablet.

I've got thrush at the moment (11 weeks today) but have been told I can only take the cream not the pessary by my midwife so have to go to GP on Tuesday to find out if I can take the pessary. Such a faff!!!
