Losing weight - should I be worried?

Since finding out that I'm pregnant I've lost almost half a stone in weight. I had a BFP at five weeks and am now 9+4.

I'm eating the same amount of food I normally do (although I've completely cut out alcohol, obviously) and haven't been sick at all.

Does your body just burn more calories in the first trimester because it's working so hard?

And should I be trying to eat more to make sure I don't lose any more lbs?

It's ok to lose weight in pregnancy, a lot of women do in tge first trimester for various reasons. Make sure that your diet is healthy.

It's going to depend what you starting BMI was. Alcohol is a lot of empty calories so if you were drinking a fair amount before, that might explain it. Are you hungry? Keep eating healthy foods as PP said.

It won't do you any harm. In my first pregnancy I lost 16lb in the first trimester and was worried, but baby was fine. I gained weight in the second and third trimesters, but the initial weight loss meant that I was back to my pre-pregnancy within 2 weeks of giving birth!
