My 16 week midwife appointment is coming up but what happens at this appointment? FTM so no idea what to expect and I'd like to be prepared. Is it a long appointment what is done etc.

From what I remember they measure bump, check urine, possibly a blood test and book you in for your 20 week scan. Not long, 10 minutes or so usually.

It’s not long; they do your blood pressure and test your urine and the best bit is getting to hear your baby’s heartbeat. It’s also a chance to ask any questions and check your general well-being.

It one check, blood pressure and a quick how are you chat.

My trust don't do the heartbeat until 25 week appointment but some areas still do the 16 week one.

Mine was over within 10 mins

BP, urine & a general catch up to see how you are. I was in for ages just chatting about all sorts.
Where I live they don't listen to the heartbeat until 22 weeks.
