Any ideas of a few nice things I can put together for my freind. We are both closely pregnant & she has recently been abandoned by the father.I want to support her & share our pregnancys...Meeting her next week & want to put a little bag/basket together to cheer her up...For when shes home alone at night ect...Thinking the obvious relaxing candles...Maybe some sort of book with positive quotes or??...Get my drift?...I know a big part of her pain is going home alone after spending time with people who then go home to happy familys...I dont want to be that person for her especially as I'm pregnant. So I'm trying to channel my inner singleton & tell her all the great things she can and will achieve by herself...

I would avoid anything inspirational or uplifting .its cheesy & obvious
Get some nice toiletries eg hair mask.candles, a book, relax teas etc
Don’t go overboard with the you go girl & tell her all the great things she can and will achieve by herself...it is well intentioned but cringy

Thanks.I get what you mean...and that's the trouble I dont want it to seem too...Poor you...Your on your own now have a box of chocolates...But also dont want it to be too patronising that something will change over a book!...But our freindship & the person she is.Is very "Long deep talks" Shes been through a rough childhood/life as have I.And we very much get together or text about the effects its had on us.And she always turns to me for advice.Or to let off emotional steam...So I just wanted some sort of hand book with that she can turn too...or a "thing" she can do if it's late at night a d shes down...And for it to be meaningful.Deeper than a candle or face pack you know?X

Have a look at don't buy her flowers, they do gift boxes and have a massive range of stuff to put in them..they do have some positive affirmation cards which would be nice. If that's the kind of thing she likes, she won't find it cheesy😊

Thankyou @SaddleGoose il look at that. The cards sound right up her street.X

Not a shop bought inspiration quote,it is cheesy corporate and homogeneous
Seeing you know her well a handwritten note is personal,it means something
You are being thoughtful and as you know her chose gifts you know she’ll like
They don’t have to be pg related gifts

Just a card and one small thing would be nicest IMO
