Could I be pregnant after miscarriage?

I had a medically managed miscarriage at 6 weeks just over 3 weeks ago. I have had a positive pregnancy test this afternoon.

I didn't go for repeat bloods but did have a scan on the Friday (medical management was on the Monday) and they confirmed there was no pregnancy remaining and the miscarriage had 'completed'. I stopped bleeding about 4/5 days after the MM.

I was fairly sure I was ovulating last week though didn't take a test. I usually get ovulation pain and EWCM and had both last week.

I don't know what to think!

Firstly so sorry for your loss Flowers It’s quite hard to know unless you’ve tested out your hcg. Usually they tell you to take a test two weeks after. How strong is the line? The only way to know is if you keep testing and the line gets darker. But hcg can linger in some people, mine was gone in 15 days but have seen people having leftover hcg for quite a few weeks x

I thought as much GinMonkey. The only thing making me think though is that I'm convinced I ovulated last week.

The line is faint but not a squint or you'll miss it kind of thing, just faint.

Unfortunately, only time will tell if this is a new pregnancy. The waiting is hard! It's totally possible though, my bounce baby is currently asleep on me!

@IsThisOddThough, So sorry for what you have been through.

I had a MC at 5 weeks in November and became pregnant again in January and I am now 38 weeks! They do say that you are most fertile straight away after a pregnancy so, it is extremely possible.

I also tested negative on a FRER and a CBD, the same morning that I started bleeding.

I'm crossing all of my fingers and toes for you! Good luck Flowers

Thanks all.

I did a FRER on my lunch break and this is it. It seems quite dark for 3 and a half week left over HCG from an early miscarriage? Or I could just be grasping at straws!

I'm so sorry for your MC.

It can happen, I fell pregnant straight after my second MC, less than 4 weeks after the MC I was pregnant again with a BFP and it resulted in my eldest who is 3. So not to give you false hope but it can happen. xx

Keep testing and see if it gets darker. But it does seem quite dark.

@IsThisOddThough, well that is definitely a positive test! I believe HCG only remains in your system for 12-16 days but, it does say that this varies from person to person. 3.5 weeks seems an awfully long time to me but, I am not an expert and would hate to get your hopes up!!

I think next step is call the GP and get an appointment as soon as you can. If, like my local docs, it is ages for a ftf app, I would ask for a tel appointment as, I can usually get one of those same day. It can put your mind at rest to speak to someone and get a bit of expert advice whilst waiting for your ftf app!

Will be thinking of you! Praying this is your rainbow baby Flowers
