Hi

Just that really - I’m really really really hungry and the weight is really starting to go on. I would never deprive my baby, but just wondered what everyone else was putting away each day? For example yesterday I had:

Fruit and porridge 8 am.
Scrambled egg on toast 9.30am
Fat free cottage cheese and jacket spud with salad 12.30pm
Couple of chocolate biscuits 3pm
Two large chicken fajita wraps 7.30pm

Sound about right?

Doesn't sound horrendous to me. If you're worried, speak with your midwife. The only suggestion I can give is to eat a larger healthy snack/small meal in the afternoon. That way you are keeping your food intake even throughout the day and you shouldn't feel so ravenous at dinner time (and then have a smaller portion at dinner if you aren't feeling so hungry.) That being said, I'm 20 weeks and eat whenever I feel hungry and not necessarily making the same healthy choices as you. Yesterday I didn't feel like breakfast and instead ate 5 chocolate biscuits! Hi @Gettingonabitnow

I'm 30+3 now and feel like my appetite is finally stabilising!
Some weeks there was really no filling me towards the end of the second trimester. My advice would just be to listen to your body.

I didn't gain any weight at all in my first trimester and at 30 weeks I have now gained exactly a stone. I've not been put off anything and have had a really varied diet throughout - I'd say 70/30 reasonably balanced and healthy but I've really found it hard to say no to the pastries and chocolates etc. - so I've allowed myself those treats!

It's all about balance. I'm a huge believer of that - if your body wants food, feed it. Just watch your weight doesn't spike and that it progresses steadily. Keep hydrated etc.

I always just assume baby is having a growth spurt when I feel extra hungry!

Hope this helps xx

I eat that amount normally and definitely more when pregnant! I'm a five proper snacks per day person...

Ras1001 · 13/09/2019 15:01

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and I have been eating ALOT until 2 days ago, almost same amount as you and sometimes even more. If appetite is high now, then a high appetite at 25weeks should be fine :)

Thanks ladies. It’s hard isn’t it?! This is my second and I feel that people are constantly giving it the ‘oooh you’ll be bigger with your second’ so really conscious about it all! X

I don't fancy anything at all and anything I do eat, I throw up :( (unless it's crackers ect). I miss eating 😭

So for me I'd probably get rid of the fruit and porridge and swap it for scrambled egg and toast, then at 9am if hungry have a reasonable sized bowl of fruit to snack on.

If you're worried with weight gain, with something like the biscuits ect id try to exchange them for a sweet fruit or sliced oranges.

Also drink lots, you can often mistake hunger for thirst. Try a big glass of ice cold water and then if still hungry have a snack.

Its hard with hormones whizzing around, I worried about my vomiting but baby with make you suffer lol x

After months of vomiting, my appetite has gone into overdrive too. It's not just you.

Unknownanon · 13/09/2019 22:25

Swap fat free for full fat for a while?

Hiphopopotamous · 13/09/2019 22:49

Sounds fine. This pregnancy I put on 2.5 stone (wasn't as sick as last time!) But now 10 weeks pp and lost all but 5lb of it. Enjoy yourself for a bit, no point in being hungry for 9 months.
