Pregnant immediately after miscarriage

I fell pregnancy straight after a miscarriage (first), so no period in between.

Guess you do tend to hear of high fertility after one...

Are there any implications?

Any experiences? I'm 5 and a half weeks...

I feel pregnant right away after my miscarriage - currently 21 weeks and all is going well! The doctor and midwife said there were no implications - the only thing I had was a little brown spotting which they put down to having no period in-between. I hope all goes well for you too.

I lost a baby at 29 weeks in September and was advised to wait. I wouldn’t have coped with waiting so was pregnant again in October. She’s just turned 21 and is beautiful and healthy.
Many pregnancies don’t end well. The miscarriage rate before 12 weeks is very high. It happens but isn’t an indication of anything other than a one off miscarriage.

I think the main reason to wait is to be sure you are not pg (eg had a negative pg test) so you can be sure a new pg is really that - and also to date it more accurately (from last period). I sometimes took a break after a miscarriage and sometimes didn't. If you are physically and mentally exhausted it can be a good plan to rest. But for many just getting back in the saddle so to speak is the best thing. Good luck with your pg OP.

Nothing useful to add Op, just wanted to send you my best wishes. Xx

I'm 30 weeks with a baby conceived the first cycle after miscarriage. It's been an uncomplicated pregnancy so far, the main problem I've had is increased levels of anxiety and I haven't really been able to relax at all. I'm constantly paranoid something bad is going to happen.

Congratulations, and I'm sorry for your loss

2 of my kids were conceived immediately after m/c. They are both marvellous.

My 11 year old was conceived straight after a mc and is utterly adorable.

Straightforward pregnancy and a 45 minute labour too

BillywilliamV · 07/09/2019 17:01

I got pregnant at once, they said to wait, I said “Why?” They said for psychological reasons. I thought the only thing that would going to make me feel better is getting pregnant again..
The result is sat in the back of the car, on her phone..as usualGrin

There is also the possibility that you get pg again quickly and lose that pregnancy as well, which is very hard to bear. For me I did not have much time due to age so only waited a month between attempts.
