My sister in law is 40 + weeks pregnant. She was due 4 days ago. She's been having really bad pains and gone into the hospital but nothing has been happening. Is this normal? There's still no sign but she keeps getting random pains.

She already has 2 children, this didn't happen with them?

Is she in hospital? She will be well looked after. I had a 32 hour long labour with my first. Pains every 5 minutes for hours...,

Good luck to your SIL!

@Mammyloveswine no she's not, they keep sending her home.

Is that normal? Should she be in hospital? I can tell she's starting to worry xx

Probably prodromol labour. Also called latent labour. She's been checked. It can last for a week or more. As long as she keeps in close contact with the hospital and is able to tolerate the pain at home (I couldn't cope after 3 days with no sleep), it's normal and fine. Labour will progress better if she's in an environment she's most comfortable (home).
