Hi Lovelies,

I have my 12 weeks scan at King's next month, I just wanted to know if they will tell you the baby's gender then?

Thanks in advance. :)

16 weeks is the earliest they can see the gender on a scan. If you have the Harmony test (to test for genetic abnormalities, Downs Syndrome etc) they can determine the gender via the testing as well, as it is a blood test. The Harmony test isn’t available on the NHS though, I believe it’s approx £400 privately.

No
Too early. You can have fun with skull and nub theories if you get good pics though

No. That’s too early even for Kings.

I had my 12 week scan at king's and they did tell me the sex. They give it with a strong caveat that it's their best guess and not to be relied on. They were right though.

Hey! Thank you! I do have the Harmony Test same day.

You will find out from the Harmony test if you want to, but only when the results come through.

They cannot tell you from the scan alone. I asked the sonographer who said at best it would be an educated guess.
