Hey!
This may be a long one and possible TMI in places...
This is my 3rd pregnancy.
Friday afternoon (16th August. 4weeks 3day) I started bleeding, it was fresh blood. I didn't have any real pain. I'd got very mild period like cramps but I remember having those with my 2 previous pregnancies. The bleeding was more than spotting but nowhere near enough to fill a pad and there weren't any clots.
I called 111 to ask for advice, they told me to monitor it and if the bleeding became heavy and I was in a lot of pain to go to A&E. I relaxed as much as I could Friday and by the time I was going to bed the bleeding had slowed right down but it was still a bit more than spotting.
Saturday morning I got up and did a pregnancy test, it was positive but I was still bleeding. The pad I wore for bed was basically clean but by the time I'd walked to the bathroom there was blood and when I went to the toilet and wiped there was more blood this time there was a few teeny tiny clots, about the size of risotto rice 😂. I bled the rest of Saturday, again not enough to fill a pad. I called 111 about 8pm that night for more advice. They advised the same as before but arranged for a doctor to call me.
The doctor called my about 11.30pm, she didn't seem too concerned with what I'd told her. She told me to make a follow up appointment with my doctor and he should refer me to the EPU.
Sunday morning the blood had turned to spotting and only really there when I wiped. I did another pregnancy test Sunday afternoon and it was positive.
This morning I took another test and it was positive. I'm only spotting now. I've had a pad on since about 8.30 and it's clean. I've checked my cervix and it's high & closed.
I saw the doctor this morning, he said it doesn't sound like a miscarriage and had referred me to the EPU but they won't book my scan until I'm 6 weeks (I'm 5 tomorrow) so... next Tuesday I need to do a test, if it's positive then I can have a scan. I asked about a blood test but he didn't see the need.
If you've made it this far, well done! 😂
What I'm asking is...have I had a miscarriage or chemical pregnancy?
Has anyone experienced similar? What was the outcome?
I'm hoping for the best but prepared for the worst 🖤
