migraine with aura in second trimester

(I keep googling this and not finding enough so thought I'd start my own thread...)

I'm 26 weeks pregnant - very straightforward and low risk so far! - and in the last 4-5 weeks have been getting multiple migraine with aura a week. I'll get a blank spot, then the ziggy-zaggy disco vision for about an hour, then a mild headache behind the eyes for the rest of the day.

I tend to get a few in a row, then a break of ~5 days, then another run. Haven't been able to identify any specific trigger - getting enough sleep and drinking a lot of water seems to help.

Have been to the doctor and midwife, both don't seem concerned at all, blood pressure is fine. I know I could be getting this a lot worse - at least I'm not getting headache and nausea that knocks me out - but it's getting really disruptive at work and the 'postdrome' makes me tired and unable to concentrate.

I guess I'm just looking for others who've had similar experiences in their second / third trimesters - and any tips on coping and/or staving them off! From what I've investigated it seems to be more common in first trimester, but my first was migraine free.

Maybe I'm looking for some hope that this won't continue for the rest of my pregnancy...?!

I had it towards the end of my second pregnancy - and was very concerned because I'd had preeclampsia in my first. Nothing came of it, the general consensus was that it was hormonal and it cleared up when I had DD2. It was tiresome though, and made me sick a couple of times.

It's tiresome, has been going on since my first trimester and has got more frequent in the last 4 weeks. When I have runs of them (I've had four in the last 48 hours) it's quite scary and really limiting. I'm already worried about going on maternity leave, and despite my work being hugely supportive, it's starting to have a real impact on my ability to do my job.

I think this could be why I get runs of them as I push myself through and don't stop to rest. I'm also starting to worry that it's going to have some effect on the baby. I feel quite isolated and I'm not sure what I can do about it that I haven't done already. I'm travelling next week but have booked some acupuncture for when I return - fingers crossed it helps in some way...

I’ve had a few of the kind you describe in the last trimester. I didn’t worry because I’ve had them for the past 20 years.
I identified some of my triggers as new lights and white font on black background.

If possible you should work from home, my gp recommended is as a reasonable adjustment, I also used up 4 weeks of holiday before my mat leave, I was just too tired to work
