I'm due on monday... having had thrush on and off (as you do..... and wearing support tights for VV, I now have thrush AGAIN!

Pharmacy won't give me pessaries or tablets just cream.. don't really want to go into labour with thrush and risk a bad start for the LO.,

Pharmacist advised to ring out of hours GP - but don't really feel it merits this our GP's are overworked as it is...

Any ideas??

defo on the shelf...think they sell it on the shelf in superdrug too

glad to hear you got it sorted though

If you're happy to take the pessary, why don't you order it on boots online? It may take a day or two to come, or I'm sure you can go for express delivery. A bit drastic but if you're desperate...

You know what though, if you do do that, the baby's guaranteed to come first, so if you're desperate for the baby to come it might be even better than all the pineapple and raspberry leaf tea

ok dumb pregnant person (me) didn't read your last post properly, I see you've got some! Glad you succeeded in the end!

MrsMar - ordering online? That is Sooooo sensible.... I will remember that for another time...ooops durrr... have no intention of ever being pregnant again!!

On the raspberry leaf tablets already.... not sure my acid stomach would cope with the pinapples though - Gaviscon is already my best friend!1

Tell you what though - the relief of having got the Canesten is amazing, I almost feel like the girlie bits are back to normal! I'm booked for a sweep tomorrow if LO hasn't arrived (D"YOU HEAR THAT BABY?... GET HERE NOW!) - and was dreading it given how uncomfy I was!

Good luck!!! I hope the LO makes an entrance before they start to threaten an induction!

Be careful buying it off the shelf though, I noticed that it is a stronger dose, and the one the dr prescribes is a lower dose over 3 nights.

Glad you are better now. Good luck with the birth!

growingbagpuss · 08/08/2007 10:22

Mine was a single dose prescribed for one night - not sure what your GPs are prescribing - but i have only ever had the single dose, and if oral antibiotics its always been one dose too...
