There’s a baby event on at Aldi starting today

Any recommendations on things to get besides nappies and wipes?

Depends what you need -

Their Muslins and bibs are good and I had a lovely sleeping bag from there.

Generally calpol/neurofen/dentinox all goes a bit cheaper.

Have heard good things about the high chairs.

Please don't get their baby carrier - it's an awful position for babies hips.

I saw their preview leaflet about this and it had reusable nappies and organic cotton babygrows which sounded interesting for a look anyway.

We bought two stair gates in their last sale for £3.50 each. They fit perfectly and actually look as well as a stairgate can!

I want to try the silicone breast pump, looks like a rip off of the hakaa, only £4.99

Sunshinegirl82 · 15/08/2019 08:19

If you're going to get a Moses basket then the Aldi one is good and much cheaper than a lot of others. They don't last long (and neither of mine would sleep in it at all!) so not worth spending a fortune on in my view.

Does anyone know if they are selling buggy's?

Sunshinegirl82 · 15/08/2019 08:26

Yes, they have a travel system and a lightweight buggy in this round.

RoseMartha · 15/08/2019 08:40

Ok thanks will take a look

The wipes aren't that big a saving to what they sell for at standard price in store btw. We picked up 2 boxes and then accountant Hubbie did sums compared to individual packs currently in store (which didn't say they were a special buy) and it's a very small
saving.

We also bought some blankets, cot sheets, Muslins and wrist rattles.

Didn't go mad

Honeybingbong · 15/08/2019 09:27

I’ve bought a lot of the organic baby grows from Aldi. They wash really lovely and my dh rough builder hands didn’t bobble the back when he winded ds. My favourite baby grows by far.

afternoontwee · 15/08/2019 15:18

Picked up their Hakaa-lookalike breast pump and a pack of their breast milk bags earlier - both look good quality and were £4.99 each.

Other stuff - the Moses basket and stand deal looked a good price for what you get. We picked up some sleepsuits and baby books as well. As PP have said the wipes box deal isn’t loads cheaper than the usual low price!

And they also have the Miosolo (? I think that’s the brand name?) reusable nappy system at a decent price too.

threemonthstogo · 15/08/2019 23:25

I bought a changing unit which looks good and 99 pounds so quite a bit cheaper than a lot of them out there.

whattodowith · 16/08/2019 10:07

The babygrows are great, Muslins too. The bambino Mio reusable nappies are always my favourite purchase.

Sianlouise432 · 16/08/2019 10:10

I bought the lightweight stroller for £79.99 to use on holidays, and the mamia high chair which I love. Was going to get ikea for ease of cleaning etc but this also seems really simple to clean.

IVEgottheDECAF · 16/08/2019 10:15

@Sianlouise432 is that the highchair which turns? Would love some feedback on that! Eyeing it up for baby which has not yet been born haha

HJWT · 16/08/2019 11:52

Usually rave about Aldi, BUT I bought some muslins and cellular blankets washed them yesterday and had to cut a lot of loose thread of...

Heartburn888 · 16/08/2019 13:35

I have seen the circular looking high chair! I want it!

@ivegotthedecaf @heartburn888 the 360 swivel high chair is actually great. But my taste is about practicality. The seat insert is soft foamy stuff like a pool float. Dead easy to clean. The chair swivels only if you press the foot lever so no risk of baby turning themselves round and round in circles. My LO isn't old enough to wean quite yet but he's just about learning to sit. He sits in it just fine and bangs his hands on the table. Yeah it's great, not the most stylish.. Not upholstered.. Not "branded" but it's gonna be a great investment for sure.
