Fake tan during pregnancy

Hi. Desperately worried and looking for advice. 25 weeks pregnant and have been using a st tropez face tan mist often daily since week 15, it didn't even occur to me this might be a problem (I've always been a fake tan addict). I have since read conflicting reports as to the safety. Anyone had any experience? Tia

I was a serial sunbed user before my both my pregnancies, I wore fake tan (st tropez) the whole of my pregnancy with DS1 and have started again this time round. Never had a problem I just darent get a spray tan due to fear of breathing it in??

Hope this helps xx

@Jenny, try to find one that is organic. There are a few out there, but my advice is to stay away from Eco Tan, it's vile.

Thanks. The one I'm using is a mist, I don't know if that is the same as a spray? X

Here are some suggestions. I have not tried the last one.

Tan Organic
Samantha Sona
Green People

Ah, sorry, just seen your post. The ones I have suggested are not sprays.

I have just had a look at the St Tropez mist. It has some pretty nasty ingredients in it. To be honest, I would not want to be breathing this in if I was pregnant. In fact, even non-pregnant I would not want to be ingesting some of these ingredients.

Aqua (Water)
Dihydroxyacetone
Glycerin
PPG-5-Ceteth-20
Caramel
Propylene Glycol
Phenoxyethanol
Parfum (Fragrance)
PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil
Sodium Metabisulfite
Poloxamer 338
PG-12/SMDI Copolymer
Hydrolyzed Jojoba Esters
Tocopherol
Linalool
Caprylyl Glycol
Decylene Glycol
Hexyl Cinnamal
Benzyl Salicylate
Butylphenyl Methylpropional
Citronellol
Limonene
Geraniol
Hydroxycitronellal
Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone
Anise Alcohol
Coumarin, CI 14700 (Red 4), CI 19140 (Yellow 5) , CI 42090 (Blue 1).

My gynaecologist said fake tan was ok. I used it occasionally with both pregnancies. All well with the two strapping children! if you're worrying stop using it now but you'll be fine. Foetuses are surprisingly resilient.

Congrats on the baby.

I would personally stay away from the mist/spray and turn to the mousse/creams.

I know that it's safe to use these however personally wouldn't want to be breathing any chemical in xx

Shaunieh95 · 21/07/2019 22:55

Saying that... we use deodorants/hairsprays etc daily... these have no effect? I'm sure you will be fine xx

Thanks (i think), although I don't believe these are the ingredients of the face mist which is the mist I've been using.
