So yesterday when driving home from asda i felt sore and thought id just overdone things doing shopping by myself (at 34weeks) and hoovering and mopping earlier on.
I then realised that they were coming and going, tightenings, but with crampy pains too. Id been having braxton hicks on and off last couple weeks but these felt different. Cue a call to assessment unit once home for advice. Expected to be told to take paracetamol and feet up for an hour. They wanted me in as having twins.
So glad i called and went in. I was having regular contractions and 2cm dilated. Urine test showed a water infection that was mostly likely the culprit for early labour.
For anyone else currently pg, if you have any doubt at all ring in for advice. Dont worry about wasting their time.
I honestly thought id be home in time for tea but no, they took me seriously.

@Hairwizard are they here and safe? congrats ❣️

Defo second this though! Walked into the bannister before with a cardboard box into my bump ! Rang the hospital ( as I'm rhesus negative ) to double check and they want me in tomorrow morning for anti D jab... always best to check that is what they are there for ☺️ xx

Congrats hairwizard I'm 30 weeks with twins and don't really know how I'm going to make it to 37/38 weeks! Glad they are both healthy and doing well. How much did they weigh?

Hairwizard · 07/07/2019 22:20

@boodles101
Yea i started struggling after about 28wks, thinking fuck this shit am done🤣 consultant was telling me last thurs most of her ladies with twins do ok til about then and then the wheels fall off as she put it. I was booked for cs at 37+4 that day too. Wont be needing it now.
All i will say is take things easy from now on. Take any offers of help, dont try and do all yourself.

Congratulations xx

I’m almost 28 weeks with twins and been told by my consultant that they’d like to get me to 36 weeks but, due to a few things (my age, ivf pregnancy, placenta praevia and poorly functioning placenta for T2 meaning growth below 5th centile amongst other things) they feel that will be an achievement not a goal. Am back at hospital on Wednesday for another growth scan and consultant review and feel growth is still going to be an issue!! I’m fully preparing to be put on weekly scans as been having them fortnightly for last 8 weeks (had 5 scans between 20 and 26 weeks!!) and to be told to rest more!!

Those are great weights for 34weeks! I'll be booking in for a C-section at my next consultant appt but I know I'll have to mentally prepare for labour before then!
