Hi guys,

Looking for some advise, had a bleed on Monday and had to go to the hospital for an Anti D Jab as i am Rhesus negative,

Had scan and bleed prob came from low lying placenta.

Having another bleed now and not sure whether to go to see doctor or not as cannot remember what he said!

Will I need another anti D or will the one I had 4 days ago still cover me??

Any ideas, as desperatly wanna try and avoid another 5 hour wait at A&E!!

Do you have to go to A&E. I have always wrung delivery suite, explain and they will tell you whether to come in or not. You shouldn't need to go to A&E. Your materniy unit should take you straight in.

I'm RhNeg but can't remember I think you do need another jab - give your midwife a quick call.

Also I had a RhNeg card that I carry with me.. does it say on the back of that at all (if you have one?)

Had to go and wait in A&E last time and was seen there by the gynea doctors! Guessing the wards where probably full??

Havent been given a card will prob give to doctors a call and see what they say!!

This happened to me a lot in the 2nd trimester - I know the drill! You need to call the maternity unit directly. They should have some sort of Day Assessment Unit to deal with this sort of event. You may need an extra Anti D but you may not - they will need to take blood from you to check and then you'll get a call back in if necessary.

Good luck x

I'm off to see the doctor, Thanks for advise guys, it seems that with my hospital they dont have any kind of day facility everything is done in A&E nightmare especially when its really busy!!
