Hi all

38 weeks and 3 days over here and frantically symptom spotting! So, for the last week I’d say I’ve had (and this is TMI!!) a HUGE increase in discharge. It started off a milky colour but over the last 24 hours it’s clear and jelly-like and will not stop coming! I’ve had a midwife appointment this morning and brought it up but she said that sounds normal and is probably usual discharge mixed in with my mucus plug. The sheer quantity though is what I can’t get over. Surely that’s not normal?! Feel like I’ve permanently wet myself and I’m wearing an enormous pad. It’s also accompanied by frequent lower back, period pain type aches. Is this the start of something or am I still in for a wait? What do we think? X

Could your waters have broken?

Plug generally comes always 5 to 7 days before labour.

My labour started with backache/light period style cramps so possibly the start. I didn't lose my mucus plug until I was actually at the hospital in active labour. They asked me for a urine sample and it all started coming out. I was also amazed at the sheer amount so it could be. (Sorry if tmi)
Agree with PP though could it be your waters maybe? If your soaking pads through I would maybe speak to your midwife again as it could be. Good luck

Part of me did wonder if it was waters but it’s definitely sticky and discharge like. Midwife said it’s a way of lubricating for the baby to come out. At this rate this kid will come flying out! Sorry to be gross 😂
