Me and my husband are trying for a baby, however we has sex on my ovulation week and now I am 5 days late on my period, which I am normal regular. I have been experiencing mild stomach cramps, also I have needed to go to the toilet more than often. I dont have any sore boobs but they do feel slightly fuller. I have been pregnant twice before when I was younger but both times I miscarried.

I've not been sick but now and then feel nausea.

Please can you advise

There's a special internet test you can do now. Basically, your fingertips secrete hCG which is absorbed through your keyboard and then certain sites are trialling detecting the hormone. Not sure if mumsnet is involved but I suspect they're an early adopter of such an exciting technology!

I hope you used a computer to post your question. They've not rolled it out to phones yet. Results within minutes apparently.

You need to do a pregnancy test. Buy a 2 test pack just in case. Do a digital one so you don't have to faff about deciding if there is a line or not. As you are over due your af you can take it at anytime of the day. It doesn't have to be first morning urine.

chipscheesegravy · 13/06/2019 21:54

Celebelly · 13/06/2019 22:38

Yes, with triplets. Congrats!

PhoebeBear · 13/06/2019 22:44

Honestly just take a test.. your symptoms do sound like first pregnant symptoms but you honestly won't know unless you take a test or deliver a baby 9 months down the line..

RainbowPanda · 13/06/2019 22:56

Why would you not take a test when you're actively trying for a baby and you're five days late? Confused

Bevidave2008 · 15/06/2019 09:43

I am 7 days late and 2 negative tests

That's just drip feeding OP

There's obviously a chance as your actively trying and your period is late

What tests did you use? Did you use your first pee of the day? (I always found that gives better results)

PregnantOnPurpose · 15/06/2019 09:47

I'm 9 weeks now, we had been trying but I had absolutely no symptoms at all. I still dont have any morning sickness at 9 weeks, the only real symptoms I have are extremely sore boobs, constipation I'm emotional.

The month before I found out I was 15 days late, thought I had every symptoms under the sun and was just that person who's hormone never shows on a test.
I came on, on day 15.

PhoebeBear · 15/06/2019 09:53

If it helps me and DP were trying for this pregnancy and I still got my period, it was just like any other one- lasted for around 5 days and a normal bloody flow. 2 weeks after that I did a test which came back positive, once I had my 12 week scan it shows I was actually pregnant before my period, for 3 weeks as well!
Maybe it was just a withdrawal bleed from coming off the pill. You never know, you could still be pregnant! Fingers crossed for you x

At a week late I would expect a hpt to be positive unless you ovulated very late in your cycle. It’s also possible you’ve not ovulated at all this cycle and so will miss your period completely.

From
The added symptoms you’re now coming out with it sounds like you’ve got a viral illness which can also affect the timing of your period. I’d probably do one last hpt in 3-4 days time to rule out late ovulation and then chalk it up as an anovulatory cycle.
