Hi - panicking a bit after seeing this scan photo. The eyes look ridiculously far apart. Do they grow into their face or is there something not right?

They always look like that on scan don’t worry. Google will show you that. I hate front on shots on scan makes you look like you’re having a little alien baby. Your scan photo looks completely normal x

Considering they start out looking like this around 5 weeks I'd say they're definitely moving in the right direction closer to each other!!
From memory the eye pockets form from 5 weeks and aren't in position until about 16 weeks.

From my 20 week scan I have a very similar image almost identical! I was just looking at it there as I am compiling a scrap book here waiting for her to make an appearance!

Full frontal alien faces are normal

I've had five babies and every 'full frontal' face picture looked lile that. Honestly by the third one you don't bat an eyelid.

Calm down, all is well Smile

That photo is from 18 plus 4 so if that's where they're finishing up it's going to get bullied!

He or she still has a way to grow and a fair amount of weight to put on. If the sonographer was not worried I wouldn’t be. Those shots with the eyes are particularly freaky though. I didn’t get any warning we would see an eye and the way he was laying meant we only saw 1 so he looked like something out of the terminator Confused

Lol - the baby does change as it's forming - don't worry!!

theydontknowweknow · 09/06/2019 09:50

Our baby was face on at the beginning of our 12 week scan so it was the first thing we saw, it was horrifying!

BertieBotts · 09/06/2019 09:54

The scan will only show you the bones and the skull hasn't finished growing yet. They look PROPER freaky but they look normal when they are out.

Don't worry your baby will be the most beautiful baby in any room, you will never be able to compare, it's a kind of hormonal thing.

BertieBotts · 09/06/2019 09:56

When babies are born prematurely their eyes always look massive, it's because their heads grow a lot in the later stages of pregnancy so the face comes more into proportion.

Hi hope your well and your beautiful baby is here, my scan looks very similar, is your baby all well and good? Thanks xx
